5th to 8th Eastern seeds-tiebreakers,facts,schedules!

MIA

41w-37l
2home (Ny,Det)
2away (Bos,Atl)

PHI

40w-38l
2home (Cle,Bos)
2away (Tor,Cle)

CHI

39W-40l
2home (Cha,Tor)
1away (Det)

[b]DET

38w-40l
2home (Njn,Chi)
2away (Ind,Mia)

TIEBREAKERS:
MIA (2-1 Det,one home game left / 2-2 Phi)
PHI (2-2 Mia) / (2-1 Det)
DET
CHI (2-1 Det, one away game left, but a lot worst conference record / Losing ties to MIA and PHI)

1) Detroit can catch Miami if they go 4:0 with Miami going 1:3
2) Detroit can catch Philly if they go 4:0 with Philly going 1:3
3) Detroit can finish ahead of Chicago if they go 3:1 (winning home Chi) with Chicago going 2:1
4) Mia wins a tie with Phi because of better conference record

Facts:
-Miami should finish 5th, because with one win(home NY) they are ahead of Chicago (Even if Chicago goes 3:0), based on Phi hard schedule and one Mia win ahead they will be ahead of Phi. Only Det can catch them winning all 4 games with Miami going 1-3.
-Philadelphia goes at least 6th if they finish 2:2, if they go 1:3 one of Det or Chi can catch them winning all games. But only one because they play one game against each other. If Phi loses all games they are 8th.

My dream scenario:
-Miami needs to win home NY, they can lose other 3.
-Philadelphia must win one out of four(away at Tor)
-Chicago must go 3-0, winning at Detroit.
-Detroit can win other 3 games but must lose to Chicago.

That way:
42-40 MIA
42-40 CHI
41-41 PHI
41-41 DET

Cleveland for sure gets Detroit, we end up with Philly.

I'd rather play Detroit of the four teams to be honest. I worry about the refs with Wade. Chicago I think is quite a bit better talent wise than their record suggests. I wouldn't mind Philly either.

Wade will get at least to the 2nd round with the ref's help...they aren't called the Miami Salvatores for nothing! (yes I ripped that off of Bill Simmons but it's too good not to)
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

It is between PHI, DET and CHI. I want to avoid DET in the first round, PHI would be my pick...

None of these teams scare me if KG is back, even without him I'm just not all that concerned. I'll save my worrying for Orlando and Cleveland.

Detroit doesn't scare me...bring 'em on. I'll first be concerned against Orlando in the 2nd round if they get there!!

What .......?

How can you prefer them over the Bulls or 76ers?

I want the Bulls. Let the Pistons give the Cavs a legit run and possibly the 76ers upsetting the Magic, because they can.

Orlando lost badly to the Bricks at home tonight. They looked finished as a team and appear to be settling for the 3 seed.

If Miami or Detriot get the 6 seed and lineup against the Magic, they will upset the Magic.

Chicago could give them a scare, too.
I am grateful the Celtics won a championship before I cashed my 1st Social Security Check!

Ok...it is official we will finish 2nd...Now I hope Detroit avoids 7th and I will be happy. I still think they are the 3rd best team in East. In a way I would like them to finish 5th or 8th to play Cleveland in firts round or in 2 round(beating Hawks in first).

Damn... Detroit lost, Chicago won...doesnt look good. I still think Detroit will win Chicago at home and wining the tiebreaker 2:2 based on conference record.
In the last game I expect Chicago winning home to Toronto and Detroit winning in Miami(Mia playing bench because they would be safe 5th seed).
There is one way out of playing 7th Detroit...that is Philly losing all 3 games(@Tor,Bos,@Cle) because that way they would finish 8th, Chicago 7th, Detroit 6th.

There is a lot of scenarios...we will see.

I want Philly. Chicago has a solid rotation and none of the top 3 teams really want Detroit right now.
