Good points guys, I guess I'm just from the school of wanting to see a guy prove he can completely handle a level before putting him on the cusp of the majors...especially considering how young Martinez still is for AA, none the less AAA. With his skill I'm sure he can handle it.

yeah but they're all too young and raw ... the only guy who's almost ready is brad holt.
http://thebaseballcube.com/players/H/Bradley-Holt.shtml
he needs to work on his secondary pitches but according to toby hyde and some scouts his secondary pitches are actually better than his scouting report which says he has none.
i'm a big fan though of robert carson, he's a guy i'm gonna follow this year.

His stats are very good, but then again that is the minors, how long do you think till we call him up, I dont want us to bring him when his not really ready, what is his upside, again sorry I dont really know to much about the minors

his upside is a #2 i guess ... but if it never works out then he can always end up being a very good reliever because his mid 90's fastball is very live and has great movement. if he has a very good year then he can get a september callup, next year he has a good chance but don't think he's gonna come and replace perez because that's not gonna happen.

Maybe he can be the 5th starter over Hernandez

Sure we have:
Phil Humber
Kevin Mulvey
Deolis Guerra
Actually we don't, its amazing how much it takes to land a guy like Santana. Like said it's Neise and Holt who will probably become the fifth starter down the road. However im convinced that there will be a trade.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

Still, worth it Santana is a monster, none of them will come close to his lvl of dominance, I think we need get a young pitching core kinda like the Marlins, who I think has a very good 3 man rotation, I dont really want us to waste more assets just for one pitcher unless its Holiday.

Without a doubt, but that move did set us back just a bit in the pitching prospect department.

not really
elvin ramirez
brad holt
jenry mejia
robert carson
jon niese
dillon gee
scott moviel
michael antonini
james fuller
angel calero
eric beaulac
kyle allen
scott shaw
jeurys familia
mets have a lot of starting pitching prospects but they're too raw, young, and don't have enough years to lable them a flop or a blue chipper.
this is a big year for the mets farm system ... if half of those pitchers have a good year then the mets easily have a top 10 farm system.

Aside from Holt and Neise and possibly Dee I don't think the common fan knows any of them. That's fine, I barely know any of them. Im saying though you saw Mulvey in the future's game, Guerra had a lot of hype behind him and Humber made news because of the surgery. Though like you said it's because of the age considering how young most of them are.

he has potential as a 20-25 hr hitter so yeah, he's a slugger i guess and the reason why he's DH'n because of an elbow strain he suffered in the beginning of spring training.
