..."There is no other player in the draft with as much potential to change the complexion of the Wolves as Evans. A 6'6" guard with a 6'11.5" wingspan who can play on the ball isn't something that grows on trees. He can get into the lane at will and can finish at the rim. He also can't shoot from outside and turns it over a lot. The big question with Evans is this: His primary value to the Wolves would be to allow Randy Foye to stay off the ball. Can he play point in the NBA?

but, as I noted above. if this was a real possible option, why would we not do the same thing with Mike Miller and Foye? The offense moves so much better with Bassy than with Foye. It just frustrates me that Foye cannot understand the PG position. Simple stuff. Set up the offense, run a pick-roll. it seems to be beyond him.

And the injury bug. wow. How many games has the kid either missed or played injuried?

Are those Evans' actual measurements? I don't know if I buy that. If true, that's pretty legit.

On the Foye thing, he doesn't run the pick and roll well because (1) he lacks a mid-range game, and (2) our big men aren't great for the pick n' roll either. (although Love has potential in this regard).

Anyone else notice how KG is having knee issues in his 2nd year away from the team?

btw, a 6'11.25 wingspan for a guard puts him 2 inches shorter than lebron James or Beasley.

Almost the same as Thad Young, Butler, Richardson,
Same As Love,
ahead of DWade

*Nick Young has a 7.00 wingspan. crap

(*btw, streetball.com says he has a 7'3 wingspan..wow)

I have a photographic memory and the attention span of a fart. So i read a lot, but I remember almost all of it. Canis--(*mostly SnP) is the best wolves writing right now.

srsly, snp is the best wolves beat writer.

I really like SnP too, i think his bromance for Telfair is a bit much, but its no different than mine for Foye. I occasionally wish he would show up around here more often. He def. knows his stuff

He backs his bromance up at least.

Bassy would be a rookie this year if he did 4 yrs at Louisville like he planned. Maybe he has not hit his ceiling? Could SnP be onto something?...nah.

But it shows the need for a true pg.

I kind of have a bromance for the whole team. I guess Brewer would be my guy.

btw, it is interesting that Bassy effects the team so much as a pg but the stats do not really prove it as a simple level. They do on an advanced level.

Bassy gets 4.5 dimes in 27 minutes
Foye gets 4.3 in 35
(*Tj FOrd gets 5.4 in 30)
Mike Miller gets 4.3 in 32

To cite SnP's bromane
here is another PER we've been keeping tabs on: Bassy's. After a god-awful start to the season he's finally back above 10. This is a pretty big deal considering he was sub-8 after 20 games, and sub-10 after 40. While there is still quite a bit of room to complain about Bassy's shot selection, I think a fair chunk of it can be chalked up to the relative lack of healthy talent on the squad and it will be interesting to see how well he plays with Jefferson back, a sophomore Love, a more-ready-to-shoot Miller, and (hopefully) a new stud player in the draft. Yes, this new player could (and probably should be) a point, but Bassy has been a solid player this year and I still find it interesting to see just how unprepared opposing fans are to see him play well. Until very recently, he was the only player on the team with a positive +/-. The guy keeps the offense going. News flash to the rest of the league: Bassy is a good player. He continues to improve and you shouldn't be all that surprised to see him play well. Regardless of his shooting, he still possesses world class quickness and handle and can get pretty much anywhere he wants to on the court. He's also just 23 years old and playing in what would have been his first season in the league had he went to Louisville for 4 years. (Of course I should also mention that he's my favorite player and I may be seeing this thing through rose colored glasses.)

Not at you.

Most people have players they like for some reason. Myself included, but SnP does a good job justifying his bromance. Almost convincing you of it.

srsly, I hope the guy gets a paying job for his writing skills.

Curry is a good player for someone stat obsessed. But I have spoke to SnP before and he feels Curry will fall between our two picks. He is hardly obsessed with him.

His question marks seem to be length, passing ability, and defensive ability.

admit it, you stole that entire paragraph from Fred Jones' scouting report

right now I guess I roll like this

1-Rubio
2-Griffin
3-Harden (*If he is 6'5--if not he falls)
-
-
-
4.-Thebeast
4b-Evans
then there is another drop off.

Hopefully some team will draft Jordan Hill top 5 so that leaves 6 prospect spots. apparently the fall-off from top 3 is huge.

I really hope someone in the top 5 reaches on Thabeet. I just dont want to see that guy here. Rubio or Evans please. Harden is becoming less and less attractive. If we can get him and then grab Holiday with the Miami pick i would be pretty happy, though that just about ruins any chance to grab a Center in this draft as Mullens will likely be the last talented one on the board.
