i dont think u should be able to pick up waive players until the commisioner approves of the waive as well as the gm that waives a player updates their roster page immediately so that they do get away with not having it count against the cap.

im not blaming u mascot in anyway, i just think gms shouldnt get away with not having waived players count agaisnst their caps..

I agree but off-season is gonna start in like a few days it won't really impact it since they are expirings.

when did the 76ers waive marshall i dont see anything mentioning it on their roster page, i know hes not on their roster anymore so he probably did waive him, but shouldnt gms keep track of the players they waive for salary cap purposes.

B/c i would love to waive adam morrison but im not because of his 4.5M salary, but if i can sweep it under the carpet can i, cause it looks like a few gms are doing this

All transactions including waived players are supposed to be kept track of on each team's post.

I am very suprised that Phoenix was allowed to make any trades so far since they don't have their salary info(or any other info besides player names) listed yet.

We should not be allowing any deals to go down unless all teams involved in a trade have their roster/salary/transaction info completely updated beforehand. That is how we usually roll...

I'm sure PHO is planning on putting up their roster, who cares if its tomorrow or the day after? All GM's should be able to trade regardless of their rosters being updated. Keep the game fun, and moving.

we hate losing Roy and some of our young pieces put getting a player of Paul's caliber makes it worth it. We also feel that Posey and Kristic can provide can provide us with solid contributions.

Why for Portland?
It was a huge decision to trade Chris Paul and we had some other very tempting offers, but this trade helped us accomplish several important goals.

While Roy is not on the same level as Paul, we acquired a player who is about the same age who appears destined to be a perennial all-star. We love Roy's leadership qualities and winning attitude, his clutch play, and his loyalty to his franchise.

George Shinn isn't exactly a free spending owner. In this trade, we managed to shed the contracts of both Nenad Kristic and Morris Peterson. James Posey is a fine player, but he is an older player who will be around 36 at the end of his contract. He simply doesn't fit into our timeline. Ultimately, we have jettisoned the 3+ year, big contracts of Peja, Tyson, Posey, Peterson, and Kristic for expiring and rookie scale contracts. Raef Lafrentz' gigantic, insured expiring contract was also an attractive piece.

After this move, NO has a cap number of about 43m committed for 12 players for '09/10 and will be a player in the free agent market. We have shed well over 30m from our projected '09/10 salary thus far.

We needed a center next to David West after trading Tyson Chandler. Joel Przybilla fits that bill. He's an excellent defender and rebounder but at a much more affordable contract than Chandler. He has also been the picture of health for a couple years.

The real clincher in this deal was the opportunity to add Batum and Bayless, as well as another first round pick. We're high on both Bayless and Batum as players who have a future with this franchise - and both are in the first years of their rookie deals.

We wish Chris Paul and the Portland franchise the best of luck and it was a great move for them as well. Adding Paul to Aldridge and Oden is a pretty scary core.

Minnesota waived both players and it is listed on my team roster under "still being paid" even though the trade has not been approved by the league. I needed to waive both expiring contracts to be under the max of 15 players before I made a second deal with detroit.

I am pretty sure that teams can not claim or sign players untill the signing period begins.

Minnesota and Detroit have decided to put the Love/Amare trade on hold since it is not legal because of roster sizes, and when the number of players got changed (by a player that was already in another deal) that would have made the money not work. We will reapproach the deal tomorrow ionce all other trades are approved. Both of us jumped the gun and delt players that officially were not on our team yeat, or anymore. Stay tooned for a new agreement between the teams.

please erase the other offer so people are not confused.

San Antonio Trades:

Houston Trades:

Shane Battier ($6,373,900)
Luis Scola ($3,100,667)

Houston Max Incoming: $11,843,209
Houston Actual Incoming: $11,305,248

San Antonio Max Incoming: $14,131,560
San Antonio Actual Incoming: $9,474,567

SA Reasoning: Manu is a huge impact player, possibly the best player off the bench in the league, but San Antonio is looking to rebuild and Scola a great piece to do that with, while Battier is a very nice trade chip for building in the future.

It sucks losing Manu, but we feel that Scola makes Duncan more moveable, and Battier will fill his role nicely.

Houston accepts. While Shane Battier is a stalwart defender, his declining athleticism and the crowded Rockets forward rotation place him in a position where he can't contribute as much as he could. Scola is fresh in the league, but he has basically reached his ceiling. Losing his rebounding will be unfortunate, but with the addition of Drew Gooden, Yao will have another athletic PF to help him on the boards. Manu Ginobili may have been injured for the season, but his injury will heal over the offseason, and he has a few years of production left in him. He will be Houston's 6th man.

Wow today has been a busy day in the league office. In addition to approving 5 deals, the league office has also gotten 13 new trade propsals on this Saturday, including some big names. That has to be close to some kind of record.
