Trade: Cardinal/Telfair/Utah pick for Hinrich.

Draft: Evans with #6, Mullens with #18, Collison #28, Heytvelt #57

Sign and Trade: Gomes/Smith for Childress

Resign: Williams

Hinrich/Collison/Brown
Evans/Foye/Brewer
Childress/Miller/Brewer
Love/Williams/Heytvelt
Jefferson/Mullens/Heytvelt

perfect?

I'm not sure childress is any better than gomes though. How'd he fair overseas?

He wasn't spectacular. His season ended early with a back injury. He's a better defender and a higher percentage shooter though.

Part of Miller's issues are his game doesn't mesh well with Jefferson's. Jefferson is a left block player, and Miller is used to playing with the big post on the other side of the court, plus Jefferson doesn't do an even average job of finding shooters out of the double team.

The first rule of the system is that you do not talk about the system.

Unless he can figure that out, it doesn't matter what the Wolves do. I'd like to either construct a team based on the idea that Jefferson can become at least average at both finding shooters out of the double team and defense (man and help) OR trade him.

Completely agree on it being something he needs to fix. I'm not jumping out of my shoes to trade him, though. Hopefully it's something he picks up coming back, although it's pretty tough to improve in those areas where you're wheelchairing it around. Maybe he'll just spend all his timein the weight room and come bck beastly so he can be like a Mac truck driving through defenders and get to the free throw line more.

Let's rent Mike Miller for an expiring and an asset to a contender .. maybe at the deadline.

He's a pro. Make sure he knows we hope he'll come back if we offer him a new contract in 2010.

I would rather trade Gomes, Smith, Cardinal, 2010 Jazz Pick and 3 million is cash in order to get a quality starter or sixth man.

Miller should have started at SF from day one over Gomes, he is clearly the better and more complete player.

If they can get a real starting PG here (Sessions) and a defensive anchor at C (Thabeet) they'd have a team that could score more then they give up on a consistent basis. If they can manage to package the Heat and Celtics picks to move up for a PG who can space the floor (Curry) they'd have a decent bench too.
