Alright, I've got a bone to pick here, and it is by no means just with you.
Look, folks, Jason Fraser isn't bad.
Now, prior to this season he has rarely been really good, either. But Jason Fraser was far from awful last season. When you compare him to the best pen in the majors, yes, he was certainly one of the bottom guys in it. But even still, last year he was an average reliever; (iirc) even above average when you consider stats beyond W/L, ERA, and WHIP.
This season if he proves to be a great closer or set up man, it would be a surprise (though relievers are pretty well known to surprise). But that Jason Fraser will likely be a decent 7th inning guy and righty specialist this year should surprise no one.
Good post. I've always been a fan of Frasor myself, and I was kind of surprised that he didn't get more of a chance at the closer's role after his rookie year when he saved 17. Gibbons didn't trust him at all and that crushed his confidence for a while but he seems to have it back. He's not a world beater, but when he's right he seems to do well in pressure situation. He's just another reason that the Jays' bullpen is so great.
