Do you really believe the Jazz can beat the Lakers

Post#1 » by KDRE » Mon Apr 13, 2009 7:43 pm

Im no fan of LA and hope someone drops them out of the playoffs because of the bandwagon fans here in the city

but I have a hard time believing the Jazz can win against LA

Why do you guys think your team can beat them when they arent that good on the road?
Notes: Rookie Rudy Gay twisted his left ankle trying to guard McGrady late in the third quarter and limped to the bench. He returned with 5:51 left, then returned to the bench about a minute later - http://www.nba.com/games/20061231/MEMHOU/recap.html

Eh, I dunno where you've been reading that we "think" we can beat LA. The majority of this board thinks we'll be sweeped, there are a few of those loony's who think we have a chance. I hope I'm wrong and they are right, but I think Kobe is going to get 40+ every game and we'll lose double digits 4-0

If they keep playing the way they have recently

6-2 if they find their game.

When this team is absolutely on top of their game, I'd say they might have a chance of beating the Lakers 4-3 in a 7 games series. Right now, we'd be lucky to win a single game. We can't stop Kobe, Gasol or Odom, we can't keep Bynum off the offensive glass and we can't guard the 3 point line. Also, Boozer will struggle against the length of Bynum, Odom and Gasol, Ariza will outhustle every wing on the Jazz and Fisher will give Deron some trouble. Not only the Lakers are a much better team, but they aren't one of the greatest matchups for us either.
We're basically ****.

Not only do I not think the Jazz can beat the Lakers, I expect it to be a really, really embarassing series for Jazz fans.

Well, the Jazz will have one thing going for them and that is that they have literally nothing to lose. No one expects them to win, and we have seen how the Jazz play when there are expectations on their shoulders so maybe it's a good thing.

Jazz have the offensive talent to beat LA, as such they are a dangerous team for the Lakers to play in round 1. If the Jazz hit their shots and Lakers have one bad day in LA, Jazz can win homes games and win in 6. If Im the Lakers Coach, I play my bench in last game so Jazz win and they get Dallas instead. Neither Dallas nor Utah play defense, but Utah does have better offensive players than the Mavs and have the attitude and home crowd to give the Lakers tougher series.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

We playing at our full potential would have a chance. Playing as we hace done lately, we don't have any chance.

I dont care anymore if we get swept, It is a foregone conclusion. I just want laker fans in here by the hundreds telling us how dirty our team is and how one of our players should be banned from the sport.

I want to see the lakers bleed. I want to see a bone poking through the skin. Ours ___ssy's we call players DERON INCLUDED wants to be Kobes friend. THey need to go in looking to kill somebody. Who cares if we dont have the talent.

I am dead sick of Deron being everybodys friend. I bet he carried the bags during the olympics, not because he had too, but because he wanted too.

Honestly when was the last time we saw some shoving or a thrown punch with this weak team, (other than harping and he played high school football)

Today, and for the last week, I think I hate the Jazz. Karl Malone should come and do a practice and knock out some teeth.

As much frustrated as I am with our guys, talent wise the Jazz are there. But we know talent alone wwon't make it. It´s a playoff series; you have to make your plan and stick with it. It's not a one or two game thing. It´s a process and you have to go with a plan.... get Kobe tired, use the first road games to push the rivall hard, hit them. make them pay, stick with your offense and make they work.
The tools are there, the talent is there, yet... aret the guts and the will there?

I think we can but with the way our chemistry is right now I don't think we will.

We dont stand a chance.

If, for a miracle, we can beat them at their home in the last game, and Hornets lose to SA, we can get the 7# spot and avoid them.

Otherwise, we are pretty much headed for a sweep against them. LA 4 x 0 Jazz.

Ive seen a few posts here and there but the jazz just had it rolling recently. They might be on a little slump but the playoffs are an entirely different story

I have changed my mind. I want to get swept by the Lakers.

Because you know what is worse

A sweep by the Nuggets and Carmelo Anthony. That would be humiliating. I guarantee Denver would sweep Utah right now too.

That's what Sloan said, kind of; I bet my pet he has more basketball knowledge than me.

I wouldn't put money on Jazz to win, however.......

Any team can beat any team. I don't think it will be a sweep.

If we get harpring to play tough (you know he did play football :) ) and hurt Kobe we may have a shot. It's time for the Jazz to play up to their reputation and cheapshot when they can and hurt them when they can.

If we turn it into a cage match we can win. I want Kobe shooting at least 25 FT's, no easy shots and more in pain the following game.

Playoffs are no time to be soft, we're pretty deep and we can afford to lose a few players to suspensions.
