Calgary @ Chicago (Hawks win series 4-2!)

Post#1 » by WEFFPIM » Sat Apr 11, 2009 10:13 pm

Specific information to come later, but in my mind the best possible outcome happened. Hawks have home ice in Round 1 and host Calgary. Hawks swept them in the season series.

Wake up, people. Playoffs are here!

I'm so glad we aren't playing Vancouver in the 1st round. 3/4 of the wins against Calgary were with comfortable leads.

6-1
3-2 OT
5-2
5-2

Some more pluses to this, we get the Canadian national anthem before home games, too, and Jim Cornielsen is kickass at that. Also, the Red Out in Calgary is something to see, since they never hand out t-shirts or anything, the fans just do that.

Isn't Calgary really banged up and struggling as of late? This is the perfect matchup for us. Go Hawks!

Roy, Bourque, Giordano, Primeau and Warrener are on IR, Phaneuf is day-to-day.

So yes, Calgary is considerably banged up.

The Bulls are trying to do the same thing, but Bulls fans never seem to be motivated. it will be a failure.

The Blackhawks are getting really hot when they need to. 2-0 against Detroit. I'm very confident they will get past the first round.

I hope the both of you plan on being in this thread during the game, the Blackhawks board on their site is probably going to get very haywire with all the traffic. Plus, there's a lot of really stupid people on it.

I cannot tell you how damn excited I am for 7:30

The only thing good out of that period was the fact they won faceoffs consistently. Horrid passing, no offensive pressure, letting Flames camp out in front of the net or blow right by the D.

Wake the f*** up.

Very flat. Calagary is out husting them and being more physical. Hopefully if they finish killing off this pentaly that will light a spark under their ass. They definitely need that.
