Playoff Squad, 08 vs. 09

Post#1 » by bishopospurs » Tue Apr 14, 2009 4:00 am

I really think we got better this year talent wise. We have basically the same roster as last year going into the playoffs. Ginobli was hobbled last year, and this year he is out. Ginobli aside the spurs did good bringing in new talent.

Out-
Brent Barry
Robert Horry
Damon Stoudamire
In-
Drew Gooden
Roger Mason
George Hill

George Hill > Damon Stoudamire
Roger Mason > Brent Barry
Drew Gooden > Robert Horry

I would say we got better. How do y'all feel?

I agree we are a much better team this year but I still don't think we can go far without Manu.

I think you may have a point, I'm only just remembering how hobbled Manu was last year. His presence alone does count for a lot on this team though.

Also hill won't be receiving any minutes come playoff time, which is utterly appauling.

A case could be made that this year's team is stronger, but it's not clear cut. I doubt this team is good enough to get very far into the playoffs, but anything is possible with Timothy Duncan.

Just Believe and Tim will do the rest...

Just need him to get over what ever is troubling him. Gooden has looked really good the last few games which gives me a little more hope, but we really needed Manu to be at full strength to be a serious contender.
But who knows, it's an odd year, not alot has gone our way this season with injuries maybe we'll get a few bounces to go our way and we can suprise some people.

We have a better cast around the big three but this post season... we don't have the big three.
