i think we're still in it if Brini and Powe are alive and well, Rondo remembers how to shoot (God, those foul shots were ugly). Obviously, KG isn't. Imagine KG watching the debacle in Cleveland. I bet he blew up a bank of TV's before the end of the 1st quarter.

So is it an ACL or an MCL or is it a meniscus tear. I'm not buying a "strained muscle" or tendon. They heal.

These 2 "celtic fans" have sucked the joy out of this board. One of those who believes we have no chance against the Cavs (even with KG) has ammassed a never-ending collection of almost always wrong, truly absurd, negative predictions over the last year - and destroys every thread in which he blesses us with his non-wisdom. The other guy is obsessed with how we cannot beat the Cavs in particular - and never never stops his rant about this. You locked him up earlier today in another thread.

One can be realistic, realize that we will have a very tough time winning 18 without KG, realize that even with KG beating the Cavs is not a given and will be very competitive, but still be positive and root for the motherfrigging team and bleed green.............and enjoy the goddam ride. Two straight 60+ win seasons???? Jesus christ. That is a great accomplishment.

Gee, their names wouldn't rhyme with "MoeBiscuit" and "BieselCeltic", would they?

I am with you, I'm a optimistis realist...I know it'll be tough and we may not win, but I'll always believe we can and I'll root like hell to the final buzzer for the Celtics!

I'm definittely worried. I don't really buy the idea that there is nothing to gain from bringing KG back. Esp, when we are guaranteed to play a couple of teams with athletic bigs.

I'd like to see KG get some PT to work out the kinks before the playoffs start. What's most worrying to me is that it keeps getting pushed back, yet all we hear from the C's camp is that it's "no big deal"...

I wonder if they're taking a page out of Bill Belicheck's book, though. I'm sure that the rest of the league is just as confused as we the fans. I bet they're just making sure that KG has really fresh legs for the playoffs.

It's the OBVIOUS move to keep KG out till the playoffs.

can you imagine if KG came back for a meaningless game against WAS and re-injured himself?

The only strange thing was that Doc kept insisting that he might be back. Maybe they were trying to avoid Stern's wrath of something. But that was what cause the uproar. Doc should have just pulled a Popovich and said eff it, KG isn't coming back. We've got the #2 seed and there's no point. In fact, Pierce and Ray are going to get some time off too.

It's also clear from Pierce's comments that KG isn't going to be 100%, at least not for the 1st round. Luckily I don't think we'll need a 100% KG. Let's just hope he's 100% by the time we get to CLE.

Sorry to say, but KG's knee is still not right. The Celtics wanted KG to play in the 3 last 3-4 games to get his conditioning going and work some rust out.

Doc Rivers even said a week ago that he expects KG to play in the Philly game. He stated that however, if the knee is still not ok, he will be sent back to Boston for more treatment.

The knee is just not getting any better and he isn't playing on it. But they don't want to come out and say that. It's like a little secret, KG isn't even talking about it. It's going to take a miracle for KG to be healthy in the playoffs.

I remember someone saying that there was debris in KG's knee causing soreness and making it lock up. Not sure if this was ever verified.

I think KG played surprisingly well when he was given the opportunity to a couple weeks ago. The 16 minute limit didn't allow him to play much, but he didn't look rusty really at all. If he comes back and plays 30 dominating minutes first game of the playoffs it will be amazing and we'll roll through the playoffs. Remember how well we started the year? That was with a healthy KG. On the Christmas roadtrip, KG seemed to have developed a limp, and we began to lose. When KG is healthy, I'm sure we are a better team than last year.

Yes people, KG is hurt. The question becomes: would you rather him cause further soreness and possible injury by playing in what amounts to a meaningless game or would you rather him take those same chances a couple days later when the games really count? Sure, it'd be nice to get him rhythm and flow and shake some of that rust off before the real games begin, but obviously the Cs are taking the long view and are betting on KG's ability to play effective basketball right out of the gate. Judging from his most recent return, he's quite capable of that.

Sure, the changing timeline has been frustrating as a fan and does lead one's fears down a long dark alley where KG never plays another game this season. But I just don't buy that RIGHT NOW. I think the Cs were 'hopeful' to get him back, and may have even entertained playing him these last three games had they had any significance. But since they didn't, they re-assessed their options and erred on the side of caution.

My best guess going forward: we're going to have a sometimes symptom-free, sometimes hobbled KG leading by example during the playoffs. He's going to have some good games, some games where he doesn't play much or that well, and possibly some games where he sits out for precautionary reasons (or if the Cs have a commanding lead in the series). Will it be enough? We'll see. I'd ask the real fans to BELIEVE with me that anything's possible, especially when the heart of a champion is involved.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

You may be right, but don't you think there also is a distinct possibility that KG's knee is getting better, but they just want to hold him back and let him get as much rest as possible. Why let him go out there and play in a meaningless games when he could use the rest?

Obviously, I'm like the rest of the people here. I don't know, but I think his knee being seriously injured and won't be able to play in the playoffs is as likely as their being extra cautious. We've seen the Celtics be very cautious with KG before, so it's not like there is no precedence.

I couldn't agree more. Of the 2 that come first and foremost to mind I've got one on ignore, but people keep quoting him so I have to read his crap anyways, and the other is soon to be added to my list. I love talking C's with the real fans here, but I've been avoiding the board because reading the crap that spews out of those morons pisses me off and I just end up being insulting to them. While suspending them wouldn't be fair as they have a right to be pessimistic ****, I wish more people would just put them on ignore so every thread wouldn't turn into the same old thing. That's what is bringing this board down, IMO, every thread being polluted with the same crap from a couple posters, and the same arguements taking over. IGNORE THEM!! IGNORE THEM!! IGNORE THEM!!

Cavs fan here - I agree with this. If I had to be honest, I think with an 100% healthy KG the Celtics are the best team in the NBA. He is pretty much the best PF in the NBA healthy, maybe the best big man period.

But with him less than 100%, different story. That said I wouldn't be worried as a Celtic fan until after the 1st round. If he is still having problems against ORL, then you got a serious problem.

Just my 2 cents.
