And when randolph plays pf regularly and struggles against them he can just move to sf and guard sfs where he will have no problem with.

That's the most accurate record of his weight.

BlaZeN27 wrote:Even if he adds 15 pounds, he would still only be 212 pounds. That's not enough to bang with the bigs in the West. Not many players that come into the league as skinny as him are able to put on any significant weight (the only one that comes to mind is KG, and he is still pretty skinny).

You guys seem to assume he will be as good of a rebounder when he isn't playing Nellie ball, which I think is completely false. He will still be a good rebounder, but he will be forced to bang with other bigs and box out, which is something he will probably struggle with. When all said and done after he gets out of Nellie's system I see being around the same level rebounder as J-Smoove.

so you think he would only average 8rpg if he wasnt in Nellies sytem
I love how people think that playing in Nellies system MAGICALLY gives players great stats

Look at al harrington put up 18.6/6.8 per36 his las season in ATL and 18.1/7.2 his first season in GS
Turiaf put up 12.7/7.6 last season with the lakers. hes at 9.9/7.7 this season with GS
Corey magette: 22.3/5.7 and 20/6.9 the year before that with LAC to 21.5/6.4 with GS
all numbers are per36

see where im going with this?

Those measurements were ten months ago lol. Randolph has easily added over ten pounds since then.

What about Baron Davis and Stephen Jackson? Your insane if you don't think Nellie ball inflates rebounding numbers, especially for a player like AR. If you think Randolph would average 10 or 11 rebounds a game if you switched him and Josh Smith, then your a blind homer. Almost all of AR's rebounds are just from flying up and down the court and using his athleticism to grab boards.

Things don't come true just because you say them. How do you know hes put on "easily over ten pounds"? It's very hard for players to put weight on during the season because they do so much running that its near impossible to add a lot of weight. This is a proven fact, unlike your baseless statement about him adding weight. He looks every bit as skinny to me now as he did when he was drafted.

Go back and look at Randolph's frame at LSU. Then look at his frame now and you will definitely notice the extra definition added to his frame.

Randolph came in a few weeks early before Warriors training camp and worked with the Warriors strength and conditioning coach.

I just did.

I went and looked at pictures from his LSU days and his most recent pictures on Getty Images. There is no way he added any weight what so ever to his lower body, his legs are pencils. Adding muscle to his lower body is WAY more important then adding anything your upper body.

lol baron davis fell of this season after he got his fat payday
davis last season with NOH 20.5ppg and 6.7apg per36 as a 24 year old before he hit his prime and he never had any seasons THAT much better statistically in his PRIME in GS. 20.5ppg and 8.8apg per36 were his highest outpute (different seasons too)

jackson had a season in indy of 19ppg and 5rpg per36. Thats higher than ANY output hes had to date in GS

Heat fans just grasping at straws at this point...

Mickael Pietrus' per 36 rebounds with GSW: 6.6
Mickael Pietrus' per 36 rebounds with ORL: 4.8

Matt Barnes' per 36 rebounds with GSW: 8.2
Matt Barnes' per 36 rebounds with PHO: 7.2

Al Harrington's per 36 rebounds with GS: 7.2
Al Harrington's per 36 rebounds with NYK: 6.5

Nice try though.

He added more more upper body strength than lower body strength, but he's still around 210. Putting on ten pounds is definitely not hard to do almost a year later.

If you think Anthony Randolph is doing a lot of upper body lifting during the season, then your misinformed. Players don't lift that much during the season because the central nervous system would be too taxed from both game time pounding and lifting sessions.

the only one thats drastically different is Pietrus' and im sure dwight accounts for some of that 1.8 difference
and i purposly left off Harringtons season with NY because isn't D'Antoni's suppost to "inflate" players numbers as well??

Look at EVERY season Harrington had before he got to GS and his rebounding numbers are almost the exact same as in GS

nice try though

Pietrus and barnes has played a good amount of minutes at power forward and harrington has played center under nellie which would naturally give them more rebounds. randolph is a pf and rarely plays center. nice try though

I guess you completely ignored when I said Randolph came in a few weeks early before training camp and worked with the Warriors strength and conditioning coach.

Beasley's averaging 13 boards to go along with 25 points a game last 4 games when given legit starter minutes (37minutes a game), while playing solid D. He also had 23/13 against the Hawks in just 24 minutes. On a side note, I don't see how AR is a superior rebounder. Maybe slightly better if not equal.

Also, looks like the people who predicted Beasley to be capable of averaging 20/10 in his rookie season are a bit off. :D

Damn, I hope Beasley continues to get starter minutes when Haslem gets back, especially in the playoffs. This kid is just having a breakout performance. I think the last four games really shows how Beasley will be heading into next season. I'm totally psyched to see how much improvement he'll show in his second year, especially with the Playoff experience that he'll get. This Haslem injury is a blessing in disguise. :D

Well randolph has only had 4 games when he played 35 or more minutes but he still averages more rebounds than beasley for the season with less minutes.

To much is made about pace. Golden State is number 1 in pace but they are horrible on defense. You don't get defensive rebounds if you can't play defense. Rebound percentage is a better stat. Randolph eats up 18% of the Golden State rebounds. Beasley 13%. Beasley has improved lately in rebounding though. Randolph for the year rebounded at a higher percentage. He is 4th among rookies in rebound percentage.
