Magic's fate might be sealed

Post#1 » by Bruiser » Sun Apr 12, 2009 11:14 am

Hey yo!

If Hedo's ankle is hurt Magic have no chance in the playoffs. They might lose against Philly.
Hedo is the key for this team. He scores, rebounds but most of all he sets this team. I've always thought he is one of the most underrated offensive players in the league. Howard might put awesome stats but he is not the guy who can carry the team by himself.

Any thoughts? Kind regards.

His ankle's not that bad...too soon to tell imo. I'm too concerned about my our own sick ward right now. As long as Dwight is camping in the lane the refs will cover for them....now even more. He's their only SuperStar.....gotta keep him on the floor.

I don't understand why Orlando would sign Lewis to an absurd amount of money when you already have Turkoglu who's a better small forward. That wasn't an intelligent signing. Consider this: Lewis' contract is worth more money than D. Howard on the team. I wouldn't blame Turkoglu if he decides to opt out this off-season.

Recently, you'd Nash returning to Phoenix and Kidd returning to Dallas. I've a feeling that Turkoglu might decide to return to Sacramento. If he were to opt out, he'll be an unrestricted free agent. The Kings shouldn't have traded you to begin with. Then too, San Antonio let him go as well. I remember thinking: He was good with the Kings...

Either way Orlando's fate is sealed...they spit the bit and couldn't even stay in contention against a banged up and undermanned C's team for the #2 seed...and we're supposed to believe they'll make a deep playoff run?
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

they don't have Nelson.

He's a younger version of Ray Allen.

No team can take that kind of hit and move on.

Hedo is just the next difficulty to their season....

Nelson and D-12 will be ready for next season though. Maybe Hedo won't be there [hopefully. $hard has to bite them in the ass at some point]

I think Hedo is a much better player because of Lewis who is really a difficult guard for anyone. Because of Howard and Lewis Hedo gets a lot of wide open looks gets a lot of favorable match ups on both ends. He has always been a good player on a stacked offensive team but it would be a mistake to think he is more than a 3rd or 4th option in an offense. In a lot of ways it is like Tayshaun Prince in DET as a 3rd or 4th option he is an embarrassment of riches but if you need him to give you 20 a night the losses start to pile up.

I still take the Magic over Philly without Hedo.

I disagree. Hedo is clearly their best offensive player. Lewis may be a better spot up shooter, but he can't handle or create for anyone, while Hedo is perfectly capable of doing that. Lewis may be a better shooter, but Hedo is a much better player over all.

Hedo can't score off the dribble or finish in the paint whether against bigs or littles. He is a nice player, passes the ball well and is cable shooter from the perimeter but if you follow his career he needs to be down on the pecking order to be effective he needs two or three other options to be drawing attention so he can bomb away from 3pt land with open looks. He is a good jump shooter but there are better. I know he gets a bunch of assists but is simply from passing the ball on the perimeter or dumping it into Howard, he isn't a slashing or driving to the basket creating offense.

Lewis is a great jump shooter who can finish (though he doesn't do it enough). You never see the rebounds you would want out of a PF with him but he is a kick ass offensive player, he is going to get his no matter the situation. You can't lean on Hedo that way, props to him for getting the numbers I just don't think they really tell the story.

Magic were trying to avoid the Pistons for the first round. That is why they let Boston get #2. Also half our starters haven't been playing the last 3-4 games..dwight,shard,hedo,alston are getting rest.

I should make a correction...magic didn't LET the celts get #2..we had a chance to beat franchise record in wins this season but the team is in a bad funk...hopefully they get the rest they need and powerup for the playoffs..i really want to see an all out series magic vs c's for ECF with a healthy KG:)

Well it's Orlando or Hawks/Miami in 2nd round. I would prefer Miami.

Thanks for the correction...I was just about to slam you for saying that but you corrected it. The Magic are in some trouble heading in, no doubt. Either way they won't make it past the 2nd round...

The fact of the matter is the Magic are still not ready for primetime and they spit the bit by gagging up any chance to get the 2 seed...that tells me a lot about them...
