That blown OT loss to Utah to and a half weeks ago,

If the Suns won that, they're in the playoffs today.

Hard to believe that despite everything that went wrong, one game was the difference.

One drafting spot can make a difference also, think of it this way. The Suns will get the #14 pick and a possible chance at a top 3 pick with Amare and the rest of the team comming back healthy next season so if they choose to keep the same team intact they will get a solid player while on the other hand who ever got #8 in the west will get stuck with the #20 or so pick and most likely lose in the first round.

yeah, think of the amount of money we receive from selling the 14th instead of the 20th.

If the Suns win that game, it's also a Utah loss and the difference in the tiebreaker. That's what separates this team from the playoffs

Utah 48 wins
Suns 46 wins

if the suns had won...
utah 47 wins
suns 47 wins + tiebreaker

We really weren't that bad of a team when all was said and done. We just lost a LOT of winnable games on late buzzer beaters, plus Amare being gone. Man, we could have competed this season but a lot of BS happened. Starting with that idiot coach Porter.

Although if they had pulled off their 8-0 run to close the season they set as their goal before Houston game, they still would have missed playoffs by losing tiebreaker

teams that barely make it into the playoffs usually have very little difficulty getting out of them.

This was not a contending team at any point of the season. The pooch was screwed from day one and the rogering continued via the front orfice. Y'all might miss the playoff entertainment...but I think we have spared ourselves a public nuetering.

If we had Amare, we'd be a contending team with Gentry running the show.

If we had Amare, the team definitely would have made the playoffs and been VERY dangerous after returning to the up-tempo style under Gentry.

I don't think Gentry is a great coach, but he's a better fit for this team than Porter was because he is a player's coach and he let the team play up-tempo.

Porter was just the wrong fit for this team.

He may become a head-coach again and do a good job, but his system was absolutely terrible for this team and that's more on Kerr than it is on Porter because Kerr hired Porter thinking his system would be a good fit. It turned out to be a disaster.

Porter would be a good coach for a younger team with players who fit his system, but hiring such an inexperienced coach to coach a veteran team like the Suns was a dumb move by Kerr.

As much as I criticized Porter, I blame Kerr more than I blame Porter.

It was a bad fit from the beginning.

Keep on believing in the past. The ''If we had Amare' tag line has been used before.

I guess, with your logic, we will be a contending team this year if all parts remain the same.

I blame Kerr for not having fired Porter earlier.

If Kerr fired Porter after 40 games we could of made the playoffs. The 11 game difference would of been huge.

I don't get what's hard about believing that if we have the system that causes us to play the way we should play, that losing our second best player ISN'T a detrimental blow, but whatever.
