Some rules for posting on the Jazz forum.
I thought I'd stop by and give some guidelines to Laker posters who wish to visit the Jazz board during the playoffs.
The biggest issue we will have will be 'trolling'. Personally and as a mod, I don't mind a little good natured smack talk. Smack talk is fun, a little baiting can be fun as well. However, there needs to be limits.
You CAN talk smack about
--------------------------------
The game
The players
The team
The coach
The ownership
The referees
You CAN'T talk smack about
------------------------------
The RealGM posters
The state
The city
The LDS religion
Polygamy
Racism issues
Other things not related to the team and basketball.
I think that's a pretty clear line. If you want a thread about how Boozer steals from blind folks, I don't care. But, one mention of mormons and you'll be looking at a suspension. Saying things like, 'Utah fans are ...' will also be seen as trolling.
If you can limit your smack to discussion of the players and the game, I'll let it go. If you feel the need to needle the fans I wont. Simple enough.
That being said, I hope the Jazz crush the Lakers and all is right in the world.
Good luck in the series.

i don't plan on visiting the jazz forum, but shouldn't the laker mod be telling laker fans how to act? i just assumed that it was up to each individual mods of that board to keep their board in line.
Only on realgm is 27,000 points, 5 rings, 1 rs mvp and 2 finals mvp considered overrated!

Amazing..............yet all we'll see on every board here on RealGM is "Fakers", " Bandwagon Laker fan " and any other assortment of weak jabs other boards like to come with.
You should've warned your own board about the use of "Rapist" and any other term use to diss Kobe that's usually classless and uncalled for by immuture people over there. Also any term use to diss Derek, cause I've seen them there also.
These boards would be a lot better if guys could actually show some basketball IQ, but it 's too hard for them cause half don't understand what they're watching anyway.
My peeps here should take my approach I take at playoff time for some boards........read the other board but don't post cause it ain't worth it to deal with hot headed mods and ignorant posters. Last playoffs I only posted on two boards that was the Spurs and Celtics, simply because at least there I was dealing with guys who KNEW ball and had the IQ to match.

Samrt move magic ! Also that's what I though also. It's like the guy just came here to flat out chin check the Laker fan early just to let'em know. I think our mods do an excellent job of letting us know how it's going to go down if somebody gets sideways. Just last week guys on the Portland board was raggin on how Phil was coming at them, but like he always say if you come here civil you got nothing to worry about.magic1fan wrote:i don't plan on visiting the jazz forum, but shouldn't the laker mod be telling laker fans how to act? i just assumed that it was up to each individual mods of that board to keep their board in line.
I'll admit when I saw this I was like.........WTF.

He's not telling you how you should behave here. He's just giving some behavioral advice for those of you who might want to visit the Jazz Board.
Each board is modded differently, so he's just giving you guidelines to follow when you're in his house. No offense needs to be taken to his post, in my opinion.

Nothing wrong with this at all. Just talk basketball and don't make other immature comments. Sadly, this thread was necessary.

It's necessary, as nobody has any creativity when talking smack and it makes the threads unreadable.

Re: Some rules for posting on the Jazz forum.
Sorta makes our forum look like a den of pussies if you ask me. I don't live in Utah but I grew up there and Salt Lake is a great place to live. I'm not Mormon, but if you are and you can't handle uninformed people ripping on it then you need desensitization treatment. I'm a Jazz fan, but our team sucks, so I have no problem if Lakers fans point that out in a variety of very unclever ways. If Lakerfan is brave enough to risk the drive-bys while hoofing it down to the local kinkos where they have computers hooked to the internet thingie, they deserve to two-finger type some really mean stuff in the spirit of their team kicking our team's asses.
Now I feel like my Mommie just came into my kindergarten class on first day and told the other kids not to pick on me. Waahhhhh!!!

I don't find a problems with this post. There are a lot of people that come on our board come playoff time just to be inconsiderate tools. It happened last year and if this helps us all focus on basketball related comments, then that will help everyone enjoy the board. I know I need a reminder to keep my Kobe comments civil.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

I agree so a certain degree. I will admit that it does annoy me at times. I hate having to sort through 10 posts about mormons and white'ness to find one good relevant post about basketball.
Calling us the jizz is fine, I guess. It is pretty unorginal and like calling them the Fakers but much more gross and juvenile.

Exactly, thank you . I appreciate the sentiment to keep Laker fans from ragging on us, but really, are jazz fans that sensitive. If you can't take the smack talk, don't read the game threads.
