I think Marbury is too good to be a backup long term. He will go somewhere where he can get more minutes. He could probably start on 5 - 10 NBA teams.

But for us hopefully its a win win. He fixes his image and gets alot more money and PT. We get a championship and quality play out of him.. Doc seems to have him in the right mindset..

Actually, I'm a Knicks fan, so a Knicks post would be my concern. Marbury wouldn't listen to Larry Brown, and he has a ring. But I'm sure KG can keep him in line better in Boston. He's certainly not a leader, and has never shown the ability to focus on playing winning basketball in the past.

Thats the Knicks party line. I am sure Marbury would tell you he tried to playing winning basketball but his team just sucked too much. I like Marbury. He has talent. But if he is year in and out your best basketball player your not winning a whole lot of games.

Is Marbury "transformed" or is he just playing with better players in a better enviroment? I think Randy Moss is a PERFECT example of how a postive team enviroment can transform a guy. There are some true leader types who can thrive in any situation. They can play tough and be the shining light on a craptastic team.

Most players - at least 90% of them are not like that. They play to the level of their teamates. You put Marbury on the Clippers he becomes a me first PITA. That's just the enviroment and culture of that team.

In Oakland Randy was a dysfunctional lazy PITA. On the Patriots he is a hard working leader. Which is the "real" Randy Moss? Both.. It's the way of the world. The terrible things people will do in some circumstances is contrasted with the wonderful things they will do other situations. Most of the time people are just taking cues from their enviroment and peers..

Some of us (Celtic fans) told you Marbury might be different with the C's. Knicks fans believing the comcast lies didn't buy that... We shall see how it all shakes out..
