KG possibly out for Playoffs

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Thu Apr 16, 2009 4:14 pm

This is bad news. I wonder if this is serious, potentially, gasp, career threatening. Tall skinny players that have come straight from high school have a history of knee issues.

See Bender/Miles/McGrady/O'neal

And Garnett is the oldest of the bunch. That's not a good sign.

If Garnett is out Boston will likely be not a contender anymore...that is actually bad :(

Boston is really the only team I would consider rooting for because my fav. players KG and Ray Allen play there...

I really hope Garnett gets healthy soon enough for round 2. Chicago is beatable but I just don't see a way to beat Orlando without KG.

If I were Rivers, I wouldn't play Garnett this year, if he hasn't totally recovered from his injury, it could become worse, and you don't want those kind of injuries to be worse, especially on a 33 years old PF...

Has he gotten another MRI, sounds like acl tear to be out that long. I wonder if he was misdiagnosed or is simply being hardcore and trying to play through the pain like a warrior.

Imagine if we hadn't trade Ray Allen for Stephon Me-bury? Corey Brewer is easily as good as Paul Pierce. We'd be the team to fear right now, we'd have gotten the ring last year.

Damn you Smithers, er McHale! Although I blame KG's bromance with Starbury as to why the trade happened.

It's strange to see KG out this long considering I didn't see him miss much games with the wolves unless we were tanking or resting for the playoffs.

The Celtics are an older team with a relatively small window. They probably need to play to win now.

Nah, they got plenty of time. KG's got a good 15 years left in him. Wait, whoops, I should have updated my calendar, it still says 1998.

I'm not really rooting for the Celtics, but at the same time I don't want them to be playing without KG. It's sad that it's happened. You know it has to be serious as KG is a warrior and would otherwise play through it.

I'm wondering if it's just a deteriorating knee condition. Once the cartilage in the knee goes, it goes, you really can't do anything after that.

Not a huge blow to me but I certainly want to see my man KG in the playoffs. He never got hurt here in Minnesota. Guess the miles are getting to him. The whole NBA has been glass this year, KG missing this much play just highlights it.

geez now the remote chance of either Boston or San Antonio (let alone both of them) making it into the finals is getting even smaller...

This sucks. He is my favourite player and I would have wished he could win a second ring and beat the Lakers in the Finals again. Hope he gets well soon. This year was the Celtics last chance to win it with this team.

If KG asked any of you to gently cup his balls and blow into his ear, would you, you guys are embarrassing

They were treating his injury like the Lakers did with Bynum last year. Saying one more week, two more weeks, then eventually giving up.

I hope the Celts can push on without him. It would be a shame to see him miss out on the whole playoffs.

His problem is that KG never asked him to do that. He's jealous.
