What about Scal and the rest ?

Post#1 » by BillTheGOAT » Thu Apr 16, 2009 8:28 pm

But what about Scal ? If he also can't play we really have big problems. We still have a decent frontcourt without KG, IF Scal can play.
Perk/Powe/Davis/Scal/Moore/Pierce.
personally i think we can win against cleveland, the talk about not going to ECF is nonesence, we have the HCA and were better team in both series, against cleveland we can take it to game 7 or gamble in game 1 with KG and take it in 6, then have KG back for the finals.

If the Lakers made it to the Finals without Bynum there is no reason you guys can't make it to the finals. There is no excuse you guys have more stars than any team in the NBA. I will admit that Garnett is 10 times better than Bynum but you guys have some real fire power. The only thing I can think of is Doc rivers is just an average coach. This will show his real skills if he can get it done with out the Big Ticket.

Bynum is a role player. KG is an allstar...and the east has 3 of the 4 best teams in the NBA...

Please quote the whole thread:

Last year the Lakers made it to the Finals in a Far deeper conferance. This time the tables have turned and now the west is a bit weaker and the east is much stronger you are very right
and the east has 3 of the 4 best teams in the NBA...
My point is this will show what kind of coah the Celtics have. Is it the coach before the stars or with the stars?

You edited you post...

As far as Doc goes. He is no Red Auerbach but he has been pretty good this season...

Meh. I don't think we miss anything without Scal around..come on now. He is not a rotation NBA player. Last year we won and he barely played.

Thank you...I'm very tired of these Bynum/KG comparisons, much like the Jameer Nelson/KG comparisons Magic fans were making a couple of weeks back...it's like comparing a turd to a Snickers bar...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

There is a snippit at the end of the "Responses from other players on KG" article on Boston.com that says he ran a 1 on 1 drill with Bill Walker yesterday and could be back for Game 3 against Chicago.

^I am so **** confused...in all honesty, the C's should just STFU about KG instead of offering all this contradicting info day after day...

First thing is ... we cannot beat Cleveland without KG. Okay, let me re-phrase that, it's extremely unlikely.

Secondly, Scal? ..........? Who cares. He does nice things, but you guys over-rate his value sometimes. To say we will have "really" big problems without him too is simply inaccurate. He makes a minute difference.

I agree. I think Scal is important for two reasons:

1. He's smart. He knows where to be on the defensive end. With KG out, we need more smart players who won't lose their man.

2. He can knock down the 3. That will help lure the opposing bigs from out of the paint, and make Paul and Rondo's jobs that much easier.

^
Let me add a third reason:

3. He takes minutes away from Mikki.
