I love how everyone is declaring the New Big 3 Era dead just because KG has a tendon strain.
A tendon strain.
I mean, sure the timing sucks, and it hasn't healed as planned, but I hardly think this is career threatening. It's not, oh, say, a bad back. Everyone was thinking Ray was done last year, but this year we found out in fact he hasn't forgotten how to be one of the best shooters in the NBA when healthy.
Injuries happen. The Magic lost Jameer. Rockets lost McGrady. Spurs lost Ginobli. The Laker lost Bynum last year. Maybe none are of the magnitude as us losing KG, but it certainly hurts. Health plays a big role in who wins on any given season. That's why it's partly luck, and it's so hard to repeat.
This team still has a 3-4 year window FROM TODAY imo. Guys don't really start going downhill until 35. And given these guys' conditioning, they might even go longer. Plus we got some improving young guys. It's all just about health, and particularly having everyone healthy for the playoffs. Guys will get injured, you just hope it's not at the wrong time.
Even if we don't win this year, we will be back next year, trust me.
