John Madden is calling it quits.

NBC said Thursday that the burly ex-coach who has been one pro football's top broadcast analysts has decided to retire. The 73-year-old Madden has been working for the past three seasons on NBC's Sunday night NFL game. His last telecast was the Super Bowl between Arizona and Pittsburgh.

Since he left coaching in 1979, the former Oakland Raiders coach has worked as an analyst for all four broadcast networks. His "Madden NFL Football" is the top-selling sports video game of all time.

Oh dear me.

Someone please teach Cris the acronym NFL so he doesn't have to keep saying "National Football League" every few minutes.

Somehow life will go on.

As long as I don't have to listen to Paul Maguire, I'm a happy camper.
Turn down for what?

It's been time for Madden to hang 'em up for a while now. He had a great run an hopefully he has a great retirement.

Cliff Levingston isn't sure why people hate Collinsworth. His voice isn't the most pleasant in sports broadcasting but he's very knowledgeable about the game.

He says some really stupid and not true things. A lot of them. And he hasn't learned the acronym NFL just yet.

Of course I'm not a big fan of people laughing as they talk because they are just so amusing they can't help it.
