Detroit, not surprisingly, has completely manhandled Columbus. I think that will be the first series finished, although I am a homer :).

Big game tonight for both the Hawks and Flames.

Just a couple thoughts on the playoffs so far.

Detroit is handling Columbus very well. Good to see the Rangers beat Washington yet again. Anyone know if Ovechkin decided to show up yet? Anyone?

The Pens pretty much manhandled the Flyers yesterday. Biron played his best game that he is capable of and yet the Pens still win. Brooks Orpik had 14 hits yesterday and the Pens had 50 total to the Flyers 29. MAF probably had the best save of the year in the game as well. I am glad I am not the GM for the Pens because I wouldn't have picked up William Guerin and he has been awesome.

Smart move by the refs there giving Montreal the 5 min powerplay so this don't get uglier.

Yeah, give us a 5 minute break from 60 minutes of broken officiating. Makes sense.

And just to restate the obvious, Milan Lucic is a piece of ****. Cross checks anything that moves and then as soon as a fight comes he's crying to the refs. ****ing hunchback piece of ****.

Jonathan Toews FTW.

Hawks win 3-2 and lead the series 2-0.

I just got back. Few observations:

-Lucic and Komisarek were BEGGING to go! Lucic and Komi were screaming at each other, lucic at center ice, and Komi near the benches, both wanted it, they were being restrained by the refs.

-Bergeron kicked gorges butt. First fight in proabaly 3 years for him.

-Carey just looked bad, but he had some amazing saves at some points.

-As for the Habs fans, they were alright. I mean, a little rowdy but nothing I haven't seen from a yankees fan. Again got to credit them for spending all the money and time to make the trip down.

-Oh anyone watch the promo of hockey night in canada?? I was in the background. I had a c's shirt on at the time though.

Still more to play though. Series shifts to montreal, I just hope the B's can play a game.

I was appalled by the officiating tonight, but they atleast made a smart decision at the end getting Lucic out of the game. We'll see if he gets a 1 game suspension for that... if the NHL has any balls at all, he will. Carey Price made some saves here are there, but that's what you're supposed to do as the STARTING GOALIE. You need to make those saves, and he was absolutely terrible tonight. You could just see the team deflate after every goal, because they really do lack confidence in him. If Halak isn't in nets for game 3, I am calling for Gaineys head... that's how fed up I am of him being Gaineys golden boy.

Also... what was the deal for not allowing the Habs second goal? Clearly the Habs player got crosschecked into the Bruins goalie, and then we scored! NO reason to blow the whistle at all, and the ref had clear sight of the puck! Ridiculous! I know it wouldn't have mattered, but still! Just goes to show how pathetic the officiating was tonight. Heck, even my roomie who is a Leafs fan and HATES the Habs was wondering wtf kind of call that was...

Anyways, it's headed back to Mtl where I know we'll win 1 if not both (IF Halak is in nets). Here's hoping for both, or atleast a little more competitiveness from the Habs. I could go on forever about Andrei Kostitsyn... all he is doing is floating around, no effort at all. Gah! K, I'm done ranting...

Detroit has dominated so far. The best part is Ozzie has been great, though its not like Columbus has had a whole lot o pressure. If Osgood stays solid, look out

The reason they did count Montreal's second goal was due to the fact that Thomas had no play on the puck. Jack Edwards explained it pretty well, I forget slightly what he says but it was in that nature.

Lucic suspended for game 3.I think this is a bit harsh due to the fact that its the playoffs. Everyones been throwing cheap shots. Komisarek's eye gouge on Hunwick for example. But due to the circumstances of the cross check I guess its the right call.

I wish he would have just dropped the gloves and fought Lapierre. Hes been a pain in the ass all series.

BTW Bergeron kicked some ass last night

It's good to see the NHl finally growing some nuts and suspending these players in the playoffs. If this was the regular season, they wouldn't have been suspended.

Lucic cross checks a montreal player in the face, and gets suspended. Makes sense.

Montreal cheap shots us after every goal (don't deny it, there are replays) and they don't even get fined? Doesn't make sense.

Man is that Habs-Bruins series becoming a fun one even on this board.

I flip away from Ducks-Sharks for about 3 minutes and turn back to see the Ducks just took the lead with about 9 minutes to go.

Oh what an epic choke job this would be if the Sharks see it through

Duck and Sharks just swapped goals 30 seconds apart,

3-2 Anaheim, 6 minutes left

Ducks win Game 2.

And the Sharks are doing so very little to prove their doubters wrong

Fixed.

Seriously though, it's the curse of Jumbo Joe. He can't get out of the first round.
