What makes Kerr's decision to hire him all the more frustrating is that the other guys he interviewed have done a great job this season.

- Vinny del Negro took the Bulls to the playoffs and they won Game 1 in Boston.

- Elston Turner is Rick Adelman's lead assistant (Adelman has done a phenomenal job this year)

- Mike Budenholzer has been an assistant on Popovich's staff for over 10 years.

How did Kerr get it so wrong in the end?

Honestly, I don't think Gentry is an outstanding coach, and I wouldn't mind it if Kerr hires someone like Turner or Budenholzer.

It seems he wants Gentry back, though.

Alvin is a good fit for this team, but I don't think he's a great coach. I think the others have the potential to be GREAT coaches, which is what every team needs.

Turner/Budenholzer are just as much of a gamble as Porter. Bulls fans want Del Negro's head.

Coro is currently doing a chat on AZ Central.com and here's what he had to say about Porter...

If it wasn't for the fact that Terry Porter was getting paid millions to do nothing right now, I'd say he took the worst NBA job. The Suns were already reeling. They had got backward for a couple years. He was given a roster that keeps losing its defensive players and asked to make defense out of it. He had veterans resistant to change. However, his tactics did not help much and he lost favor in a hurry, whether it was the vets or the young players. Nobody thinks he's anything but a good guy. He just wasn't the right fit at this time. The biggest mistake was changing the offense so drastically. That lost a lot of guys and surprised some people in the organization who were expecting his familiarity with Rick Adelman's offense to have him run something similiar to Mike D'Antoni's system. The idea was for Alvin Gentry to be an offensive coordinator of sorts and that never happened. You probably can understand that he wanted to make it his team and not run a predecessor's sytem and hand over control to a holdover coach.

He is still going to chat for one more hour.
