Game 2 Victory Cigar !!!

Post#1 » by wetsthebed » Tue Apr 21, 2009 1:57 am

I'm undecided. Rondo and Ray both deserve it, and while the gamewinning shot usually is an auto-cigar, it's hard to throw away 19/12/16/5.

i know you'll say it kills the purpose of the cigar, but i think the whole team deserves this.. shorthanded and a whole lot of heart .. im for a team cigar.

I'm voting for Ray. More than just the game-winner, he was absolutely amazing in the 2nd half.

Spectacular game for Rondo though.

Ray Allen gets my vote.

28 in the second half when the teams season could've been on the line.

Ray Allen saved us when the game matters. I'll hand him my first victory cigar. He deserves it.

Rondo, and it's not even particularly close. Reasons include:

Look at the +/-

Vastly more effective defense than Allen.

A lot of Rondo's misses were "Passes off the backboard". I.e., when Rondo went to the hoop it was a high-percentage operation, the box score notwithstanding.

I went with Rondo because he did everything out there.

I went with Rondo because he stepped it up in the clutch with Ray. But did everything he could as well [1/2 on clutch jumpers, very impressive].

... well actually can we split the cigar?

up and down preformance from Pierce tonight. Overall decent game.

Perk steped it up too... as did Baby...

okay I'm just not voting for one player :0X

The +/- is always really deceptive. What happened is Ray was in the game for the time Rondo was out and Marbury came in (and stunk up the joint). That's what cost Ray's +/-.

If you could somehow calculate Ray's +/- when he wasn't playing alongside Marbury, the numbers would be close.

I thought Big Baby was huge for you guys, see how he's in Chicago. Good Game though, I knew Ray Allen was gonna make that shot when I saw the set...

See you in Chicago.

Perk, Baby, Rondo all had great games, but I went with Ray. He stunk up the joint on Saturday and then comes in a sinks the dagger tonight. That shot just put Celtic Nation back on the 2009 playoff map.

The big thing about the refs is the Salmons three pointer that was waived off. Everyone that had DVR checked it and thought he got it off easily. No one on the Bulls protested though, so it was just kind of strange.

That being said, your front-court killed ours on the boards. I'm hoping this inspires Thomas and Noah to lock themselves in the weight room this summer.

Great game, though. This has been an amazing series. Rondo's a machine, and the Allen-Gordon battle at the end was great basketball.
