The Jazz showed some hope.

The Jazz have had problems defending the big men(Bynum/Gasol) in the post, obviously. They have no problem shooting right over the shorter big men of the Utah Jazz. When this is the case you double team, Jazz started to do this but the Lakers than got open jumpers because the Jazz wouldn't close out on the perimiter and rotate. The Jazz started doing that. All of the sudden things started to click.

I still wouldn't take the Jazz over the Lakers even if they were doing all that. Why? because the offense hasn't been that great and they haven't been shooting very well... I wouldn't count on the Jazz to play perfect defense the entire game. But than you add in Okur. He gives the Jazz some shooting and the ability to spread the floor. He also gives the Jazz some size so they wont have to double team quite as much.

If the Jazz play like they did today and Okur is playing like Okur it's anyones game.

D-will is a great player with better players around him he can be even better. Reminds me of the Lakers before they had Gasol and the players mature. Kobe was a one man team, he couldn't do it all because the rest of the team sucked and they got bounce by the Suns every year.

you serious?

Before Gasol, Lakers had the likes of Smush Parker and Kwame Brown starting.

You honestly think that compares with a supporting cast of Boozer, Okur, AK4, ect....?

Utah certainly doesnt lack the talent.

Don't worry, once Okur comes back they will have a player to go up against Gasol and Bynum on defense and a person who can shoot the ball. That will be less double teams on defense and more pressure on your perimiter guys. Also, his shooting will allow players like Boozer, AK and Millsap to get more open look down low while allowing D-Will and Brew to slash more often.

These should be some great games coming up.

Yeah, but you add in Brian Cook with Smush and Kwame and you got yourself FIREPOWER.

The Jazz does... but they need to want it more than the Lakers.

LOL. Yeah, right! I think I see some brooms in the LA locker room.

Have a nice break after the first round Utah. But don't worry, I'm sure we will do a better job in the next series, I just hope that you beat up LA enough, and make our job (Houston, that's right, oh my god, a Houston fan has invaded this thread.) Easier. I am not ashamed to admit that LA will be tough to beat, but we have shown, that we can go toe to toe with LA, (Provided Ron Ron shuts his mouth, and doesn't say boo to Kobe.)

Looks like another dissapointing year for Jazz fans, but then again, you'd all be used to that!

just curious, what part of 0-4 regular season series has shown rockets can go toe to toe with LA?

LA owns rockets as much as jazz owns rockets.

Dallas only beat us because of a corrupted official. and yes, you guys have had our number in the past. but that is exactly what it is. The past.

Houston can take LA to 7 games, the Jazz won't. You may get one win in there, but that is about all. We can Match LA at pretty much every position, and we have bench depth, something that Utah lacks. I hope that you win more than one game against LA, I really do. I think it is probably the first time I have ever wanted Utah to win, (Okay second, I am an avid HATER of Michael Jordan, and really wanted you to beat him/Chicago back in the 90's) I think it would be great to play you guys in the second round, and then knock you out. We go on to play Cleveland, (Who's number we definately have) and get our third championship.

Either way, you or LA are just another step on our road to the finals.

I don't think we have a shot at beating LA, but it's wildly optimistic also, in my opinion, to believe that Houston has a shot at beating them. Is this all based on dominating the inexperienced Portland Trailblazers in Game 1?
