...but, does anyone else feel comfortable with him taking 20+ shots a game? If that's what we're relying on to keep us in games in this series, we're screwed. Yes he hit something like 11 or 12 of them, but still...does anyone here *really* want Baby taking 20 shots a game??!!

Even though he hits a lot of them I sceam NOOOOO every time I see him ready to take them. He is consistent hitting them but I will have a heart attack if he takes 20 of those a game so I say no lolol.

If' he's making his shots I have no problem if he took 40 shots a game. I can now say that Big Baby is a consistant as it can get and he's putting up KG numbers aswell.

Glen Davis is taking the shots he's supposed to take. Chicago has framed their defense to allow for Davis to take those shots and he's beating them with it. Do you want him to pass the ball to someone who is not open, thereby causing shot clock or 3 second violations? :roll:

That's what usually happens when the ball swings to the open man and he doesn't take the open shot. Bashing the guy for knocking down open shots given to him and helping win a playoff game.

I know you don't like Davis, but you're way off base on this one buddy.

Ya exactly Baby is doing what I wish Marbury and Moore would do which is TAKE THE OPEN SHOT! As much as he scares me shooting he has to take it, plus he is consistent so I dont know why that shot scares me lol

Ricky, I'm with you, I also scream "nooooooooooo!" when he takes a shot...

And Cisco, my point isn't that I think he sucks (even though I do)...I'm *very glad* he hit those shots and scored those points...without them, we would have lost game 2. My point is, do you *REALLY* want to run an offense where Stubby is going to take 20+ shots a game?? Honestly?

Lat night Pierce and Allen were running AWAY from the ball at times late in the 4th Q. Rondo was taking shots, and Baby was also willing to take them. He's a second year, second round pick who came in for an injured superstar and put up 26 and 9.

What's to not be happy about? Earlier this year he couldn't hit that shot, now it's become part of his arsenal. I'm very, very happy with Davis right now because if he's not taking those shots we're likely down 0-2 right now.

No, I'd rather he didn't HAVE to take 20 shots a game, but if he has to (when others aren't stepping up and when he's the one left open), then Yes I want him taking the open shots.

Oh, and Davis doesn't suck. Just because you think so, doesn't make it so. :roll:

He is hitting them, so what is he supposed to do? God, people will find the negative in anything and everything. If it is in the flow of the game, great. He also gets a lot from put backs and such. Do you want him to pass those up too? I mean, KG and Powe are out. Do you really want Pierce and Ray taking 30 shots each? Somebody needs to step up and make shots and Davis is doing that, but some just cannot be happy about it.

The problem is that there are some that don't like Davis, was saying he sucks and Davis is making them look foolish, so they are lashing out. :lol:

I like him taking those shots. Earlier in the year when he first starting to shoot them and he was bricking 90% of them, I was unhappy with it, but he's really improved his shot. I'd say he probably shoots about 40% on jumpers now. Respect for his jumper has also allowed him to make some nice 1 on 1 drives to the hoop.

But raise your hand if you'd like an offense where he's throwing up 20 shots a game at his usual clip, against a team that defends better than Chicago (of which there are many)...

If the team was defending better than Chicago, he wouldn't be wide open, and he wouldn't have taken the shots. He only shoots them when the defense is giving them to him. Big Baby only takes the shots the Bulls were giving him and he didn't force shots up while being defended well.

I completely understand your point, but what other choice do we have? Half of those shots are off rebounds/put backs. They are not all jumpers. And if a team who defends better than Chicago comes along, you would expect more of those opportunities to be available. He has to take them. It is what the defense is dictating. If he doesn't, they will sag off him and double guys like Ray and Paul. Sure it is not ideal, but it is not like Paul (19), Ray (18), and Rondo (18) are not getting shots. They need to make that extra pass and whoever is on the receiving end of it need to hit his shot. We are talking about 15-18 ft jump shots, not 3s.

Davis has been playing great, we were +20 with him on the floor last night, the highest +/- of anyone on the team, with only Rondo coming close at +17. Davis scored 26 points on better than 50% shooting with a mix of jumpers, drives, and put backs. If he is scoring efficiently I have no problem with him taking 21 shots when KG and Powe are hurt, he is doing a fantastic job of filling the PF role. I've never got the dislike for him anyways, but the way he has played with KG out I'm surprised it hasn't dried up at this point, I don't think anyone expected this much from him. I certainly didn't. How anyone can not like a guy that is doing this much for the team and ends up diving on the floor and into the seats after balls at least once a game is beyond me, BBD has got some major heart. He's the best offensive tackle in basketball.

You're right, we have no choice right now. And I guess that's what depresses me. Without KG and our usual stellar interior D and low post game, we are a tougher/better version of Orlando, a jump-shooting team galore. Against a team like Chicago that doesn't defend super-well, we should be better than we have been in the first two games...

I just would like for Davis to rebound... More. If Powe's season is done. The team really will need Davis to step-up as a rebounder and defender as oppose to anything he'll give you offensively.

As others have said, I never would've thought that I would miss Scalabrine. But, looking down the bench and seeing Moore will do that to you.

we had 50 points in the paint, and BBD was part of that with his put backs and drives, so I wouldn't call us a jump shooting team only. Chicago has been playing great, all the credit in the world to them because they have been knocking down everything they throw at the rim, but we should be doing a better job of defending, but when Mikki Moore is our back-up center we've got troubles when the bench comes in.
