Way to be loyal T-mac...

His pick for the title:

“Lakers. (Host: That easy, again?) It’s no knock on Cleveland, I think Cleveland’s gonna get there… Cleveland to me is really not that good. If you take what the Celtics did last year… You knew, they were either gonna get to the finals, or they were gonna win it. You can’t really say the same thing about the Cavaliers.

Is this even surprising anymore?

LOL who cares. If we lose this first round series...will you blame it on McGrady? No...so why does his opinion matter on who will win the title.

IMO McGrady isn't a part of this team anymore and if we beat Portland...I think thats gonna be made a official.

According to the Chronicle he plans on being at the playoff games at Toyota Center.
Who he'll be rooting for is the question.

The Rockets aren't paying you $20 million a year

Why is anyone even asking TMac about who'll win a title? Since when is he an expert?

It's one thing to be a Rockets fan and say you think the Lakers will win it all, that's fine. But when you're getting paid 22 million by your team and you come out with a comment like that, it just makes you look like a jackass. He really should know better.. I also think he privately would hate to see the Rockets win a title without him.

Whatever though, we've moved on without him already.

Most of us agree. What dude is trying to say is that b/c McGrady plays for the Rockets he should support them in that way.

I disagree...I just don't think his opinion on this particular team matters. Yes he left a void and we don't have a finisher...but his departure created depth..and even if we don't advance this year we'll have a lot of nice players to shop around in the offseason b/c those guys got a chance to develop this season.

It would be different if he hadn't already made so many dumb comments in the past. He just needs to think before he talks, he's making a fool of himself.

If he answer 'Rockets' to a question that he THINKS it's 'Lakers', then he would be an hypocrite and you guys would probably bash him for that.

He is not going to say the Rockets otherwise it would mean the Rockets don't need him.

Yeah, he's telling it like he sees it. I'm the biggest Tmac hater but he's just keeping it real. Lakers are gonna take it this year. If cleveland wins, it'll only be b/c the league aka Stern sets it up that way. I hate NBA basketball =/

TMac needed to never talk when he was playing for us. Given that he's not even playing right now, he REALLY needs to shut up so as to avoid any chance of becoming a distraction. Hurting the team in any way or degree from the bench would be a Marburian accomplishment.

That said, this is kinda "whatever". Dude's just dumb, what can you say about it?

He's speaking as a fan, and he answered a question truthfully, imagine if he said The Rockets, he'd eventually have to eat his words.

I quit reading Clutchfans because of this thread over there.. Who cares? People just want to hate when its not needed. WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS. He is not playing, and he chose the favorites. Just like Jerry Sloan said he doesnt like his chances against the Lakers. Can we worry about winning 3 more games before anyone mentions Tracy again? Plus he is trying to get to some playoff games. That in itself is attempting to be loyal. But, someone will find a reason to turn that into hate.

Yes, I've been looking for a reason to hate on T-mac for the longest time. I mean its not like I'm a big fan of his, judging by my user name and all...

Lol but wouldn't that someone be me? Since I created this thread and all. I'm really not that upset, but T-mac really needs to learn what "politically correct" means. He hasn't realized that no one wants to hear his opinion anymore, he's not that relevant these days.

So, they ask him a question and don't want to hear his opinion? I think you have been reading clutchfans too much, or you just hate t-mac now for whatever reason. I say someone due to clutchfans and all the t-mac haters around this board. Has T-Mac ever said anything politically correct in his interviews? No. How can people hate on a player that is a fan of basketball? Just because he is signed to the Rockets doesnt mean he cannot enjoy the NBA as a whole. He picked the favorite, which is a cop out answer.

Not really a big deal. People need to stop overreacting.
