This series is over without Leon Powe
Great win in game 2. Great comeback by ray Allen. But it seems like this series is over. I don't see us wining a game in Chicago. Paul Pierce is flat out tired. KG is gone. Rondo had an amazing 1st half before he got hurt. And now Leon is most likely done for the series if it's the same knee.
Without KG, we still had a chance to beat the Bulls. Then we lost home court in game 1. Now we lost Leon Powe it seems like. We only have 3 bigs left if you count Mikki Moore as a player. I don't want to see Moore is playoffs games. But this is what it has come down too. We needed Leon bad in the series. The basketball Gods aren't with us this season.

Re: This series is over without Leon Powe
Not knocking you in any way but the gloom and doom posts....it ain't over till it's over.....this is a team and each game is different. The team will have to adjust. Moore may get hot and fit in because it's a short series and he's seeing the sames guys in a set of games. Playoff games can be different. Let's also get a real read on Leon's condition. It ain't over till it's over.

If Leon is out it doesn`t look good. The only bright spot is that Scal seems to be close to return...

The Celtics are getting killed by the Bulls guards, not the frontcourt.

Re: This series is over without Leon Powe
It's the opposite knee for Leon so it might not be as bad as y'all think...
Although if game 1 is any indication, if Bennett Salvatore is reffing any games in Chicago, we're screwed...

You dont see us winning in CHI? well I dont see Ben Gordon playing like MJ again and I dont see PP playing like garbage for yet another game hes bound to break out. Plus Rondo was impressive after he came back and a big reason we won.
No offense I know losing Powe will be huge but it seems like every time something wrong happens you find a reason to doubt this team.

Maybe, now KG can finally return and put this Chicago team to bed.
.
If Powe is gone, we are in serious trouble. I can't rely on Mikki Moore. Terrible signing by Danny Ainge.

I loved the Moore signing until I saw him foul every second

Ricky, I can see us winning in Chicago but I'm not as confident as I was before game 1 after the stinker we put up in both games, especially defensively...

I can agree with that, losing that first game might come back to bite us in the end.

Re: This series is over without Leon Powe
Did anyone see the injury? They didn't show any replays on TNT so when they said he was out I said HUH? If he sprained aknee doing nothing then that doesn't bode well for leon's future. His first injury also was a non contact injury wasn't it? I didn't see that one either but if you're spraining your knee just doing a normal basketball move that's not good. Perhaps he was favoring the knee that was hurt and in doing so he put more pressure on the other leg. I dunno but in any event it appears he's gone for the series if not the year. Considering all of his knee injuries in the past I wouldn't be in a rush to give leon a big contract. Hopefully Scal suits up for thursday- put a football helmet on him. We need someone on our bench to step up. The problem is we're undersized at every position. Marbury and Moore just haven't been a factor but maybe stephon can give us something in the next game

This is my problem with people's analysis of playoff bball. I'm a Chicago fan and we're just as guilty as you guys: good teams find someone to step up. Period. Game 1 Ray didn't do anything and Rondo went berserk, game 2 Rondo gets injured and scores less and Ray picks up the slack. Game three I don't know who will step up for Boston but I'm SURE someone will. Conversely, you guys are right that Derrick isn't at a point where he's going to run off 36/11 routinely, and BG won't put up 40 a game, but them, plus Salmons, plus Hinrich and our bigs have the ability to chip in 20 points on a given night.
I think if anything we've learned that there probably won't be any decisive victories in this series. Without KG your defense is too vulnerable and our defense was never that great to begin with. I can't wait to keep watching this series.

Damn, I though for sure this was Joebiscuit providing more soon to be signature predictions. Losing Leon and having to play Mikki more minutes sucks, but nothing is over. By now people should have learned to respect Celtic Pride a little more. We still have a great team, and BBD has really taken the opportunity this has given him and run with it, I can't believe the step up he has taken.
Come on, be real. Celtic Pride. Where was Celtic Pride in game 1? Where was Celtic Pride over the last 20 years prior to last year?
The Chicago Bulls are a very good team since getting Miller and Salmons. They could have easily won both games at our home. The refs pull for the home court team. Once they call a few dumb fouls on BBD and Perkins, then we are left with Mikki **** Moore. It's just too much to overcome IMO.

The C's have won titles with a Center named Cowens and won playing small ball....it can work.

Cowens was a freak, a HOFer, and had some pretty good teammates like White, Cheaney, Sanders, Havlicek, Silas, Westphal, etc...in a tougher league, so I don't like the analogy you made, my man!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

It could be easy with the problems to pack this season in and say.....well we won one let's go home and get some rest, let's get KG ready and make a run next season but the C's are fighting to the end like last night.....they are 1 ft from being up 2-0 and had a 60 win season with all the problems this year. That my man IS CELTIC PRIDE. It"s right in front of you and you can't even see it nor do you appreciate it. It's a shame.

Dave Cowens was sort of ridiculous. Nevermind a few teammates that were pretty ok too...
