S/T for Marion?

Post#1 » by revprodeji » Tue Apr 21, 2009 4:11 pm

viewtopic.php?f=32&t=899324&start=0

Combination of a couple rumors/stories but Toronto is looking to s/t marion in order to get any value. I proposed the idea of sending them Bassy and an expiring. Toronto needs a back up pg. They did not hate it.

any thoughts?

He would just complain about not playing for a contender.

ONLY, and I do mean ONLY, if we draft Ricky Rubio. In our "system", with our players, Marion doesn't really fit. We don't have the guard to get him the ball for open looks, or for alley oops. Marion excels when he's running, or someone is attracting his defender away from him.

I'd be surprised if they did that. Obviously Raps fans do not know what they are getting with Telfair. Wouldn't they be better off letting him walk and using whatever cap space they had?

No way.

At this stage of our rebuilding process i would much rather see what Brewer can do next season.
Anyway I would do that trade if Marion was 4 or 5 years younger, but with 31 there is no way we can give him more time on the court than our young players while rebuilding.

I'd rather have Marvin Williams. And I'm surprised j2j didn't say that.

I've tried to temper my public love for M-Dub. Plus, I found his address, so it's much easier to just stalk him in person.

I agree, I would much rather have Marvin. But I was speaking simply from a value perspective.

Draft Rubio, holiday,
S/t marion
throw a pissload of money at Pekovic.
