Back to the topic. I support every player that wears green. There are certain players I like more than others obviously but for me it is more about the team than the individual players.

I'm from a small city near Münster originally and went to Cologne to study (and I'm back now, so I should change my location ;) ). My team is Borussia Dortmund since I know how to count.

I agree with you. It's always about the team 1st and individual players 2nd.

Sorry for the OT.

fans are fans. we blow hot and cold. we all lvoe the Celtics otherwise we wouldn't be on this forum. When we lose games we're upset and we vent. When we win we're on top of the world. that's just how it goes.

Cleveland will choke I guarantee it. The last team with Mo Williams as their 2nd scoring option was Milwaukee. And I don't see their defense holding up. Just look at that roster, Sideshow Bob the flopper, Old Z, Szczerbiak, West, Mo. None of them are great or even very good defenders. LeBron going to have a game against someone where he really struggles and Cleveland's going to be blown straight out of the building. I see them as the St. Louis Cardinals with overachieving to the max. Just look at what they've gotten out of a team that really should win 50-53 games. All the overachieving veterans on that team.

For the sake of argument if the celtics make it to the finals and play the lakers who do they have that can match up agains Gasol, Bynum and Odom with Powe and KG out? That is right no one. There are only so many significant injuries a team can endure before it tips the scale too much against them.

You say the cavs are not good defenders yet somehow all year they have arguably had the best defensive team in the NBA. All of a sudden what it mattes the whole team is going to totally and suddenly collapse? Your rant on the cavs is ridiculous, they have the best player and best record in the NBA. What are you going to start to give them a little credit?

Celtics are not winning a championship without KG. End of story. Nothing more needs to be said. Right now this team has ZERO low post presence with KG and Powe out and one of their best bigs is Moore. What what have now is a jump shooting team and jump shooting teams do not win titles.

I don't think you can ever say a team is "just overachieving" when they've got Lebron James on it...

and West can't play defense? Ben Wallace? Slideshow Bob for better or worse is known for his flop and being an instigator.

I just don't know. It's okay to love your team, but why does loving your basketball team mean you can't appreciate other teams.

And saying the Celtics right now will beat CLE then LAL.. I think that's not appreciating the LA or CLE team at all.

I love this team. And I still think we can win it all. Obviously, it's gotten a lot harder without Garnett, Powe and Scal.

Injuries happen to other teams too.

We can get by all our hurdles if chance starts breaking our way and if the games are called even and consistently. I doubt that's going to happen as you could tell in the first LA game that the fix was in.

Win or lose, I love the team. And I'm always optimistic.

Well that settles it I guess I can spend my time watching American Idol or something. The Celtics season is officially over, pronounced dead by a forum poster on the interwebs.

or not

This is my team and the season will end when they are eliminated or win it all, and if they are eliminated I will still be in disbelief, looking for an angle for a few moments, hoping that there was a clock malfunction, or the other team did something technically wrong and the game will be replayed or forfeited. I've been that way for going on 4 decades with this team and the half empty contingent posters will do nothing to change that, can only reduce the frequency of my visits to this forum.

For the rest of you, stuff happens - Players make unexpected comebacks from injuries, other teams players can get hurt, role players suddenly become stars, or have that one shining game,, new players suddenly click and contribute in ways that surprise everyone, over-hyped superstars start having fouls called against them when they deserve it.

well, maybe not the last one, but I'm not done enjoying this ride, and I don't hear the fat lady warming up yet.

That is one of the dumbist things I've heard. Who are you to determine what's wrong or right? Not only can't we beat the Lakers or Cavs without KG or Powe, we won't. That has nothing to do with being a true fan. I'll put money on that, since you think you have so much basketball knowledge.

Let me ask you this. Did you think the team we had two years. that when we won 22 games would win a championship? If you said no, according to your logic, you are not a fan. If you said yes to that question, you don't no much about basketball.

Danny Ainge has assembled a great roster. I love everyone on the roster. It wasn't always that way.

I'm one of the saps that still holds out KG hope. Why would Doc have him put the surgery on hold if there wasn't hope? Even if we get an 80% KG, we can win this baby. This team was better than last year's version when everyone was healthy. Rondo has stepped up in ways we thought he could, but it is still a joy to see.

I love this team. I really felt for Leon when I heard about the torn acl. He's a great human being.

That's not what I said. West is not a great defender not quite because of his effort but because he can't match up well with most SGs. Varejao is a good defender, I guess, I just hate anyone who relies on flopping that much. Look, apparently none of you have ever heard of great regular season teams that aren't good in the postseason. I'm not saying they are going to be as much of a failure as the Mavs were two years ago in the playoffs but I really just can't see The Cavs were great in the regular season, I will concede that. But they don't have much to show in the postseason. (Obviously making it to the finals is a big achievement, but the way they were manhandled by the Spurs still makes me think a bit down on them.) Look, haven't you ever heard of just not liking a team too. I really just have a problem with LeBron as a person, the way he is totally self-serving and really seems to think he is king of the world. The guy has just had a silverspoon in his mouth his entire career handed to him by ESPN. He is a great player but the way the refs will serve him and the way he's beaten teams in the playoffs with gamewinners which he traveled on just pisses me off. Look, I"ll admit I just don't like a lot of the Cavs players and the way the media just treats them as if they're the best team ever. They were a great regular season team and they're still a good team but I don't think they match up well with elite teams or other teams like the Magic. Ben Wallace is a good defender but he just hasn't seemed to be nearly as good since he left the Pistons. He's had a lot of injury problems and his rebounding and block numbers have gone down WHy is that so horrible? And as for you downers, you guys are really being jerks. Look, you have a right to think we will lose this year but do you really have to shove in everybody else's face again and again and again. Go on another teams' forum if you want to talk about we are doomed and suck and about how wonderful everybody else in the East is.

I REALLY love this team.
Rajon: I really enjoy the way he plays the game. Fast and furious. Team concept. Great defense.
Ray: The definition of a basketball hitman. He is a great shooter but a great player as well.
Paul: Well... I´ve had very strong opposite feelings for him through the years. He has mature.
KG: Oh man! I love his intensity. He is the ultimate team player with unique skill set. Love him!
Perk: The once upon a time fatty rookie is 15 PPG on 0.700 FGP and 10 RPG last 2 games!!
Leon: Wish the best for the beast. Get well soon dude!!!
BBD: 22 PPG on 0.500 FG with 6 RPG these days...

I like this team although I have to say I'm not *enjoying* it as much as last year's team. Perhaps the constant injuries and the fact we can't catch a break has something to do with it...
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
