Looks like we should know sometime this week.

The way it looks. Frank will be back. So be prepared for either another year of the Frank BS or a quick stint of Brian Hill after the Nets start out crappy like they do every year under Frank.

He´s likely coming because of economic issues. I mean..our team is losing a lot of money and i don´t think the management would like to extend it. I think that its better if he stays and we use our MLE than getting another coach and not signing anyone in the free agency.

Frank gets a free pass again. I new it would happen. At lot of us predicted we'd win 30-35 games this year. A lot of critics scoffed at that at the beginning of the year. Whether we give credit to Frank or not (I don't give it whole heartedly), we surpassed expectations. Add that to the fact of hour much it'd cost to buy Frank out and hire another coach, probably a better one who'd cost more month, it's a no brainer from an economical standpoint to just try one more year with Frank than burn even more money than we're already burning each year.

Yeah another change that is going to take 30 games to implement. We will be 10-20 when the offense finally kicks in only to finish with the same record as this year.

Then Thorn decides to extend Frank another two years.

There´s a report on netsdaily.com that we should know if frank is coming back or not by wednesday morning. Team management and owner Bruce Ratner were supposed to have a meeting tuesday night, and one of the topics of it was Frank´s situation.

As Prelude and others have said numerous times, we are losing too much money to pay Frank and another coach unless there is a coach that is a must have and he won't be available after this offseason and as much as I like Eddie Jordan, I don't know that he is that guy. I expect Opie back, but if e are struggling by around the 30th to 40th game of the year, I expect him to get the axe and Hill to take over till the end of the season. Then again, VC might get traded, leading to Opie getting yet another free pass, cause who is going to expect us to win anything more then 30 games at most without Vince?

Rod Thorn said this wednesday morning: "we shall see". He also said that his lack of decision should not be interpreted one way or the other.
Although that was said, i´m starting to think that this is taking some time, and that Frank may not return next season.
Thoughts?

I think Thorn is just putting Frank on notice, he's telling him there's no guarantee he'll be back after this season and he's letting him know the things he'd like to see improved.

As sad as what you said maybe, I think you are right.

I still have hope that Thorn wises up and lets him go. Maybe Thorn is weighing his options by contacting some other coaches.

Harris and VC have both said they want Frank back. WTF? please tell me they are just towing the company line and not saying anything negative so they don't cause a ruckus.

How can Thorn say he is happy with what Frank has done. for the love of god someone please take those rose coloured glasses off him and smash them. It's been five freakin years of Frank surely the honeymoon is over. Thorn is quoted as saying Frank won some games with his coaching. Some? WTF is some? My seven yr old daughter could of won SOME games with her coaching. I can just see her now.
DAUGHTER: Daddy what is that really big man's name?
ME: That's Brooke Lopez sweety
D: OK whats that man's name who has the ball all the time?
M: That's Devin Harris honey
D: Ok. Um Mr harris sir ( hey my girl has manners) I'm the coach and i really want you to pass the ball to That big man Mr lopez. Can you do that for me about thirty times a game pretty please? (bats her eyelids)
Bang! theres 20-30 wins right there. Much better than Franks SOME games
Can Frank coach the kids?

A story in the Sacramento Bee named Mike Fratello as a possible candidate to coach the Sacramento Kings next season.

I can't stand Mike Fratello. I would love for him to go to the west coast.

Really? I thought he was alright. I tolerated him as much as Mark Jackson.

Fratello only bothers me during Nets games because half the time it doesn't even sound like him and Marv care about the game. Eagle and Spinarkle are so much better.

With that said, Fratello is a great coach. Look at the rosters he had when the Grizzlies were good and tell me they should have been as good as they actually were lol.

This is his one major problem though: He's one of the best defensive coaches out there, but his offense can be suspect. When the bottom drops out and their defense slacks, his teams royally suck and he gets fired. It's similar to Larry Brown though in that ALL of his players MUST buy into his system for it to work. I think we have a roster of players willing to do that so I'd be totally down with him, but I could also totally understand people not wanting him here too. If there is a kink in the chain, it can deteriorate rather quickly for the czar.
