i am 23 now and started watching the celtics religiously in antione walker's rookie season. i loved 'tione and OB years so much that it took me until this about half way through season to forgive DA for trading walker. I still think trading 'tione was a slap in the face on celtic pride on par with the dancers but it is what it is.

say what you will about the OB, pierce and 'toine teams but some of those battles were classic. anyone remember when pierce dropped 46 in 2nd the half against the nets after he only 2 in the first, or the game in denver opening up a big west coast road trip were 'toine had ten assists in the first quarter and then basically sat out the rest of the game because the Cs had already sealed it? AND of course, who can forget the greatest playoff comback in nba history. i still don't understand how they didn't win that series after being up 2-1 to the nets after that game....

I've watched almost every game since the 2000 season, when I was 12 years old. I actually kind of liked the losing seasons. Don't get me wrong, I really loved winning the title last year and it was awesome, but there was something that was just fun about seeing which of the young guys was going to be great. I loved watching Al Jefferson mature and remember really pulling for guys like Kedrick Brown and Joe Forte when they came in the league. Back when I thought Milt Palacio was the point guard of the future and was actually hopeful that Vin Baker had turned it around.

I started watching the Celtics with the losing, started following them in the 06-07 season. Even though it was one of the worst years of the franchise i fell in love with the team. Still am, always will be.

Can't watch all the games though since i live in belgium but i stay up all night for big games and mostly watch the games on downloads the day after.

I moved in with my current wife in 2000, I hadn't had a tv in years but she had one and had a sat dish, I started watching the games and haven't missed more than a few a season since.

Good topic.

I've followed the Cs since 1988. I didn't live in Boston then (I do now), so I basically followed them through box scores and the occasional game on TBS against the Hawks...anybody remember the TBS broadcasts? I caught the odd playoff game when I could, as we didn't have channels that broadcast the playoffs (except for NBC)...I basically had to beg my parents to take me to Grandma's house, where I could watch it the TNT games (were they broadcasting then? It's hard to remember).

Anyway, all that hardship ended in 95-96 when the NBA package came out. I've probably watched 98% of the Celtics games since then, only missing them if the VCR malfunctioned or I was out of town for a prolonged period.

I've lived in Boston since 2006, so these have been the golden years in terms of watching the Cs on TV, as I don't have to live through other teams' announcers. Mike and Tommy forever!
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

Was watching Pre-Larry.

Jeff Judkins and Cedric Maxwell were the new cornerstones!!!

Bob McAdoo was the key Veteran aquisition that would help the team turn the corner.

Ahhh- that Kool Aid was sure good.

Well, the length of game threads in losing seasons was a testament in itself of how many people watched the C`s, IMO...We had a few 100 page ones, now, if we get to 5 we can be happy...

I have been watching the Cs all my life. I remember back when my dad used to take me to the games during 89-92 and I really enjoyed it. But my obsession with the team started around 94-95 when I was old enough to really understand it. I havent missed many games since. I watched almost every game the year ML Carr tried to lead us to the number one pick. Since I missed out on the glory years and my own personal experience has been mostly losing. It made last years championship more special for me.

I started watching and following in 2001 (I have been in the U.S. since 1996) but it wasn't till DA traded walker and OB left that I started enjoying the team.

I've missed maybe 10-15 games in te last 7..8 yrs or so...and usually if I miss a game, then something really important came up causing me to miss the game.

Watching them go 0-18 was really unpleasant. I hope we never go that route again.

Ask my wife, she will tell you I did. The conversation always went something like this, Wife said, "Why do we have to watch since they are so bad?" I said,"Because they are the boston celtics the single greatest team in the history of sports." Then the conversation would go on until one of us left the room to watch TV somewhere else.LOL

Celtics aren't my favorite team but, I have the utmost respect for this organization and I was always enamored by the legacies of Bill Russell, my favorite legend of all-time, and Red Auerbach, the greatest man to ever coach this game. I started watching basketball in '93 but never really paid attention to the Celtics until the late Pitino era with the great Antoine Walker, rookie Paul Pierce, and one-year wonder Dana Barros.

Regardless of who the players are, I'll always respect this team. I always root for them as long as they aren't facing my favorite team. I'll also tune into their games whenever I can.

Hopefully the Celtics can pull themselves to the championship series. Nothing will infuriate me more than a Lakers - Crabbaliers final. Since my team will not win it all, I'll say: Go Celtics, grab that banner #18!!!

I was able to watch cable during the losing years, so I could actually watch them back then! With a kid on the way and a temporary low income situation, we decided it would be best to turn off the cable and divert more money to savings. In the mean time, I don't even get to watch them play regularly. :(

I really doubt the dude who proclaimed the Bulls series over, after our 4th best big goes out for the season, should be trying to stir up some "whose the best fan here" crap.

Honestly... i was a smaller part of the KG trade lol, so ive only been a C's fan since the start of last season

however, ive seen and been a part of the most exciting season of nba i can remember last year, and the history and legacy of this organisation has gone from being something i respected to something i feel a part of.

I am here for the long haul, and will still be watching every game when the inevitable happens and we have some down years... i mean hell, i managed to be a wolves fan for 10 years, so i know how to support a rebuilding/losing team and the excitement that comes with developing players and the draft. I just couldnt stand having a general manager that was incompetant and unwilling to do what it takes to win... there isnt that issue here with Danny Ainge, which is another huge reason i love this organization and will be a C's fan for life, through the good and the bad seasons
