Trade Naz, and I would not take a chance on May. I simply dont trust him to stay in shape. I dont see the desire there. If you give him the 3.6 mil, he'll simply pack on the pounds again. Just cant trust thim anymore.

Re: LB's End Of Season Presser
those okafor comments are the least shocking things i've read all month. no kidding, okafor doesnt really love hoops the way felton does. he doesnt work on his offense in the offseason like he should. no surprise there, just glad its been confirmed. no wonder he has shown zero improvement on offense in 5 years.

Re: LB's End Of Season Presser
I'm sure this Emeka Okafor could average 18-20 a game on the expansion Bobcats. So yeah, I'd say his offense has improved.
With that said, I was sure he would build off that bigtime season in 2006-2007, but in reality, he's taken a step back. And now, it definitely seems like he is content with what he is. Granted, if he played the minutes Wallace, Diaw, and Felton play, his numbers would be better than 13 and 10.
Does anyone think Dwight Howard's success get's to him? I get that feeling quite a bit.

A couple of us have thought that for a long time - that he could walk away from basketball tomorrow and not really miss it. He seems to have a much greater calling in life with all of the support work he does.
This just seals the deal............unless LB is putting in extra early work to try and get EO50 angry for next season?

Re: LB's End Of Season Presser
My only problem with saying "he doesn't love basketball all that much ..." is that if he didn't, then why does he put in so much work to keep his body up to par? Seriously, look at Mek's frame compared to Gana and Nazr. Stretching as much as he does requires some serious mind strength.
I would say in the offseason, Mek tries to enhance his physical abilities far more than he tries to hone his skills, or add to them. Mek is what he is physically, and he definitely needs to realize that. I highly doubt any offseason workout-program will make Mek more explosive and more atheltic than he already is, so it's time to work on those skills.
The brightside of this is that it show's Mek still has upside.

Re: LB's End Of Season Presser
i've said it before and i'll say it over and over... if mek can add a mid range jumper to the level of something like pj brown, charles oakely or udomis haslem, okafor will be a perennial all-star. forget about working on low post moves. add a baseline jumper instead.

Yeah, if he starts shooting like Haslem, and play's more than 33 mpg, he should be a 20-point scorer.
Humble yourself.

I wish we could make him watch videos of Hakeem Olajuwon and Kevin McHale for fours hours a day every day. Then again, I think every big man should have to do that.

I read those comments to mean that Mek works more on his body then his basketball skills, not that he is uncommitted to basketball in general.

The Sean May comment to me says, "we're not going to comment on this at that time, because we are not picking that up in fear that we'll be stuck with him for another season."

Re: LB's End Of Season Presser
I know who Mek is. He is a pf playing C. He is a throwback style pf like Charles Oakley. Horace Grant type guy. Nothing more nothing less. If you expect him to get twenty or anything close youll always be dissapointed
He was compared to Buck Williams coming out but I don't think he is quite that good but that is his ceiling potential. For those who don't know Buck Williams was a damm fine role player that got you 17 and 10 and hustled every night.
Sure you can list the top C's and he will be up there because there are just not many Centers in the league that are good. It is clearly the weakest position in the league.
Not to bring up Brook so Ill make this part short this is why I get made when people say we have Mek so we didn't draft Brook. Mek should be a 4 anyway and Anderson Varegio plays with Z and Gasol plays with Bynum and there the 2 best teams in the league. Whats wrong with being big?

Flip flopping again, I see ... the saddest, and most pathetic, part about it is that you don't even realize you're doing it.

You are becoming a negitive stalker.
First of all what did I say about Mek that was wrong. He averaged 13 points and 10 boards on a team with no scorers. That is the same amount of points as Raja Bell. Prove me wrong.

Maybe i'm seeing things, but has Dex not said this entire season that Okafor should be averaging 20 points easily?
I rest my case.

Re: LB's End Of Season Presser
Yes that is true I said he should be averaging 20. He could with his body, talent and the fact that there are not alot of scorers on the Bobcats. Problem is mentally it's just not his game. Mentally he seems to just be a hustle player like the examples I gave.
Gerald Green should be averaging 20 points a game to but that doesn't mean I think he will.
It's just saying they have the potential to.
