2- His injury stunted his learning process and he's still basically a rookie.

He clearly has D issues, as well. But he hasn't had one of those offseasons where he puts together his shot the way he should have. He can shoot, we know that, but he hasn't gone and made himself a shooter. And he's not playing real games, so he's not picking up the triangle very fast.

I'm not ready to discard him.. don't think we could if we wanted to, but I'd give him this offseason to start proving who he is or isn't. Him finally getting pissed about the slander on his game is a decent start.

Bingo! I agree with the statement above in bold. All I have to say is, if Ariza and Shannon Brown can come in...two guys not know for their shooting....and improve the way they have with the lakers in the triangle, Imagine what a known shooter can do once he gets his legs under him. I think the lakers are pretty much letting Morrison learn the offense and heal his leg until next year. If giving the minutes next year he will probably be the best shooter on the team.

Obviously he hasn't impressed the coaching staff in practice...that's the only way you're gonna get minutes in real games. He's got a great shot...maybe just a bad fit. Too bad, I loved the kid in college even if he did cry after being eliminated..

Shannon Brown gets all the love because he's doing the best job among all 3 of our PG's. He's either staying infront of Deron or forcing him to the double team and he's knocking down shots. IMO he's like a younger version of Fisher, solid D plus a knock down shooter. Nothing spectular, but pretty solid.

Back to Morrison, who's minutes can he take? No room at SG, maybe SF. He could probably take Luke's minutes but Luke's basically teacher's pet so I don't think Morrison will be playing any meaningful minutes as a Laker. We'll see though.

For what we need at the 3 position he's pretty bad. He was a bad defender before the injury and will still be terrible when he's 100%. Let's hope he's not overrated from outside, that might earn him some minutes in special situations.

this was an acl tear, not a shaun livingston knee explosion. acl tear rehab is somewhere between 6-9 months, morrison is going on 18 months including a full season of nba games and practices.

I didn't know that about his healing time. Why has it taken so long? Butcher surgeon? Slow healing tissue?

did some searching and found a recent article (when he was traded) where he says that he didn't really rehab well, but he says the knee feels good now.

He does seem to be a good guy.
I think he can help some team with his shooting but he does not defend or rebound well.
What he really needs is playing time which is something he will not get with this Lakers team.

Guys I live in Raleigh and your all in denial. He's makes Sun Yue look like some of you either thouht Sun Yue would be or were kidding, I still don't know.
He is not an nba player. He will go overseas and probably even be a 6th man over there. To think he will be good in the nba is funny and so is thinking he will be in the league.
Trust me denial.

Well I dont mean it that way, but he is getting paid millions to sit on a bench representing a team with history and legacy meanwhile resting his injured knee with the hopes of getting a championship ring under his belt by doing absolutely nothing but showing up to practice and cheering his teammates on.

Now how many of us wish we had the same opportunity. Plus there is nothing he can contribute to this team that other healthier players cant. He's just fine right where he's at to me.

I guess I don't feel bad for him, of course he's got money, cars and girls, plays for the Lakers, lives in LA, he's living the life. I feel bad because it's not like he magically appeared in the NBA. He's probably spent his whole life building towards being an NBA player and was such a stud in college, he's probably just really bummed that he sucks in the NBA. Kind of like Reddick. When I look at Morrison on the bench, he looks sad. And the only guy I see him talk to is Pau. But yeah, screw him, I work in a cubicle.

Nothing worng with caring for others PROPS.
All Im saying is I bet you he's in a much better position in his life than me and you and everyone else on this board combined.
He has worked hard and has recieved the fruits of his labor and hopefully once he comes off his injury then Im sure he will get another phat contract. Also keep in mind incase this teams makes it to the finals and if the we win a title, then he basically got his name in the record books and gets a ring for doing absoultely nothing, but showing up to practice.

If you want to feel sorry for someone, then feel sorry for Rad for being so stupid and not even trying to make himself or this team better, cause Im sure he's kicking himself in the arse right now for being in Charlotte and have to watch his old team play in the playoffs and possibly in the Finals.
Now thats the guy you should feel sorry about.

I wouldn't trust a shooter who's afraid to take his shots.

I'd hire Samuel L. Jackson as Morrison's personal coach.

"Success doesnt always mean winning. There are other ways to win, rather than winning "the game". You can still win in life without winning the game."

"Say what again motherf*cker, say what again, I dare you, no I double dare you, say what again..."

He won't be afraid of just shooting after that...
