Look at how he has done nothing with NC St. and then give me a reason why he should coach Memphis. The guy was terrible for the Grizz, and he is below average at the college level. No way he deserves such a promotion.

Excellent (IMO) press conference with the new coach. Can't help but like the guy. I'm hoping this is a great hire for the school and not Iavaroni 2.0

Yeah. He did a very good job. Seems weird seeing someone my age getting the job.

I've said the same thing as well in regards to an Iavaroni comparison. He does have youth on his side though.

After thinking about it, Pastner really reminds me of Alexander Chaplin's character (James Hobert) from Spin City.

Since Cal is taking his coaching staff with him, outside of considering Andre Turner among the staff. Who else could Pastner could go after to complete his coaching staff?

I'm totally shocked to see RC Johnson hire a guy with no coaching experience after lying about going after a "wow" hire. Should've hired Reggie Theus.

Pastner isn't going to get any of the recruits here. Xavier Henry just said he likes Pastner as a recruiter but didn't want to come to Memphis to play for an unproven coach.

Nice going RC.

WOOT! Will Coleman has shut it down and is staying with his commitment to the UofM! Granted only one piece of what was a very large puzzle, but hey, we'll take what we can get at this point :D

Big indeed. If we can manage to get Dodson and possibly even Xavier to re-commit, we'll be doing better than fine.

Coleman is a HUGE piece to the Puzzle. If Dodson stays, we get Bledsoe, Garcia on the Court, and another wing or 2, we should be in great shape. Word is Simpkins will be brought back to the team.

We have the makings of a tournment team.

Pastner is now gunning for the likes of Bledsoe, Stephenson, Williams and the remaining guys that could come along with the coach from Chilpola (sp) JUCO...

Here's a great summation of the last month for the UofM hoops program.
