Please say NO to Fratello...

You would think that after the failure with Musselman that they would have brains enough not to do the same thing again. I've always thought of Fratello as a serious control freak, and that does not necessarily translate to player disciplone and can lead to quickily losing the young guys.

If we want to go this route, I'd MUCH rather have Doug Collins as I feel he is much more personal. I think he has the social lubrication that Fratello lacks.

As opposed to the Eddie Jordan the Kings fired 11ish years ago? :D

Anyway I don't really care who we hire as long as it's Geoff's decision. If Geoff is pro-Fratello, then I am. Objectively though, his recent history in coaching isn't too exciting.

Fratello needs to stay at commentating! Thats the only thing in his career im really excited about, because the rest of his career is real bleak and dull; nothin to jump up and scream for at all.

With that said, Im calling out TERRY STOTTS!! Where you at bro??

Seriously thats a guy i want as an assistant on this team or even give him a shot at an interview!

However, here's to Mo cheeks being our next coach!!

Head Coach: Mo Cheeks
Assistants: Terry Stotts, Henry Bibby, Mario Ellie, Moses Malone :D *drools*

Hope this happens

Fratello's antics and crap rotation patterns might actually work for a young team needing to find time for multiple young players. However he'd be just about the worst head coach to move forward with.

It begins and ends with Eddie Jordan if he wants the gig, I won't be fooled otherwise. A little sad to see Jason Hamm let go, they hopefully rehire him back.

I think the comparison of Mike Fratello to Eric Mussleman is off. Musseleman was young and inexperienced. Fratello may be a control freak, which I would HATE on this team, but he knows basketball a whole lot more than Musselman. Muss just could make a better power point..

I really think it will come down to Eddie Jordan or Jeff Van Gundy, and I think Eddie Jordan will be the one sitting on the bench by the start of next year.

Smills, Doug Collins would be an interesting choice, but if we were to go with a TV guy I would like to see Jerry Reynolds coach the team! :D

I always seen the Czar as having a methodical approach to the game and stressed defense. I don't know why he would be a bad choice. But that is just me.

czar, collins, jordan or cheeks are all upgrades. and one of them is better than the last 3 coaches put together. but that being said, i think anyone thats seen a game of basketball would be better. we need webber back, either as the big man coach or working with petrie or something to bring hope. he could help hawes and thompson get that agressiveness he had and make them reach their potential.

in the end, the maloofs suck and should have never fired adelman. jazz kept sloan for years and seems to have worked out. kings needed to follow that, but too late now.

Touche...but of course I'm not head-over-heals in love with the idea of Jordan either. I wouldn't have a lot of problems if he were hired if we know that it was Petrie's decision. But he's not really the choice at the top of my list.

How do we know the past 3 coaches weren't Petrie's decision in the first place...?

The Tsar isn't the answer and neither is Doug Collins, although I agree with Smills that Collins is the preferable of the two.

I'd like to see Avery Johnson myself, but I know not everyone agrees with that.

Natt might have been, but I know that Muss was publicly declared (and IIRC, Theus) as a "Maloof family decision". If it was up to Geoff, Rick would still be here.

The Maloofs fired addelman, and the Maloofs interfered with Muss hiring, I never heared they interfered with Theus hiring, or Natt (which really was a no brainer).

Because his rotations do nothing but piss players off and cause complete and udder tension in the locker room. It's like what Reggie was doing at the start of the year, play guys no more than 25 minutes a game. It's hard to get a rhythm going that way and it will eventually cause your team to crack and turn on eachother. The "fresh body" approach only works in video games.

Kenny Smith!!!I heard he wanted to coach one day..He couldnt be any worse than Natt and I think he could build great relationships with the players.

That being said my list includes Tom Thibedeau, Mario Elie and Brian Shaw. I think they swould all be very good hear coaches

I think Grant mentioned this on his show, and I agree with him. But right now the kings are young, so part of the coaching job is also a teaching job with these young players. So hiring a first time head coach doesn't necessarily make sense. I'm all for giving someone a chance, but I think it depends on the situation, and for us, we need a steady influence who can help coach and develop these younger players into a good team, especially with whoever we get in the lottery....preferably Griffin/Rubio :D

This is pure speculation, but does anyone else think the coach might be dependent on who we get in the lottery?

Say we get Griffin. So perhaps GP would hire someone like JVG to help put together a more defensive oriented team built around our 3 young bigs.

Or..we get Rubio, it might make sense to hire someone known for offense, to help build a free flowing offense like we had before. Eddie Jordan might make more sense here, since he is known for coaching offense.
Sometimes you just have to look yourself in the mirror and say....Tyreke Evans.
That just happened.
