Massaquoi is good, I wouldn't be opposed to it, but it would probably be smarter to go FS; Louis Delmas, Rashad Johnson, or Darcel McBath

Hate the first two, love the rest. You already have Michael Johnson on the roster, albeit in a much smaller package, in Mark Anderson. Everything that makes Anderson a guy who needs to be replaced is even more true in Johnson. Maybe Marinelli would reach him but in DET he had two similar guys (Alama-Francis, Cody) that never took to it. Marinelli is more of a teacher than a great motivator, and you can only teach those willing to work and listen. Lions fans learned that the hard way.
Barnes is a S/CB tweener coming off a broken shoulder blade where the muscle tore off too, plus snapping his collarbone and tearing his rotator cuff. He's also had at least 3 concussions. He's decent but you can't risk on another DB coming off a major injury that early. In that range I would take Rashad Johnson or Michael Hamlin at safety, Chris Owens or Mike Mickens at CB.
I'm not a real big Barden fan but he's absolutely worth it at that spot. Probably not realistic though, but I like the thinking. At worst he's a red zone target and competent outside compliment to Hester in the slot, where he belongs.
Melton is most definitely a Marinelli type of guy--hard worker, very quick (he used to be a RB), strong for his size, willing learner. Good long-term investment, probably a practice squadder in 09. The Bears have talked to him too, FWIW.
Maiava is real small but Chicago is perfect because he's used to playing alongside a great pair of LBs, and he can really cover.
Fulton and Parker are both coming of recent surgeries, and Parker will probably be an IR stash, but he's got potential. I like Fulton quite a bit. During Senior Bowl week he demonstrably improved and really took to the coaching, as if he had never been coached before by Zook & Co.
My ideal Bears draft:
2nd--Fili Moala
3rd--Austin Collie
4th--T.J. Lang
5th--Brian Hartline
5th--Cecil Newton
6th--David Bruton
7th--Dan Skuta
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Ogunleye is most likely gone after this year so having athletic DE's to even come off the bench could be very important for this teams success. Other players I would be OK with would be Connor Barwin OLB, Jarran Gilbert, or even Ron Brace (I got a feeling Marinelli could do wonders for this kid) However, If Michael Johnson is available I think you HAVE to take him.

Michael Hamlin is more of a Strong Safety and is to slow. Just not much of a fan of his. No way Rashad Johnson is still available in the 3rd Round too. Chris Owens? Eek I hope that was a mis type. Mike Mickens would be an interesting pick though! Really wish Jairrus Byrd dropped but doubt it. Since the bills are shopping Ko Simpson Id hope the Bears looked into that. A player that I'd also be interested in the Bears to look at is Victor Harris, although he could probably be had in later rounds.

Reminds me of Marques Colston so much. Hope we look into this guy could be a STEAL.

+1, couldn't have said it better myself

2nd--Fili Moala
3rd--Austin Collie
4th--T.J. Lang
5th--Brian Hartline
5th--Cecil Newton
6th--David Bruton
7th--Dan Skuta
[b]Fili Moala? I'd be OK with that pick up.
Austin Collie? No thanks. Especially at round 3. If he fell to round 5 I'd consider it. He just doesn't seem like a very special player. Not very fast, not very strong, slightly above average hands... good route runner though.
T.J. Lang? Anther MEH pick for me. Wouldn't be overly excited about that pick but he could be a decent addition.
Brian Hartline? I like this late round pick up. Seems like a solid player who jumped to the draft WAY to early.
Cecil Newton? honestly cant say anything about this pick... I dont know much about him but adding depth to the Center position doesnt sound like a bad idea. Interested to know why you picked him though..
Dan Scuta? Cant really say much about this pick either. Dont know much about him. Interested to know why you picked him though...
Care to justify why you picked those guys? Im not trying to call you out or anything just curious as to why you picked them and what you like about them. You definitly dont seem to really "hope" guys fall. Most of your picks do seem about where most of those guys will get drafted...
This is my modified Draft for the Chicago Bears.
I'd be fine with a draft like this:
2nd: Michael Johnson DE OR Connor Barwin OLB OR trade down a little and grab Rob Brace DT
3rd: Ramses Barden WR OR Brandan Tate WR OR Sen'Derrick Marks DT
4th: Victor Harris S OR Sherrod Martin CB/S
5th: Henry Melton DE
5th Round: Kaluka Maiava OLB
6th Round: Xavier Fulton OT
7th Round: Anthony Parker OG/C
7th Round: Patrick Turner WR

Hate to burst your bubble, but Sherrod Martin is a 2nd rounder, and Patrick Turner is probably a 4th/5th now.
Also, Michael Johnson and Macho Harris are two of the most overrated players in the draft.

Sherrod Martin COULD be a 2nd Rounder... crazy things happen on draft day. history tells us that, im sure i dont need to find examples. you never know who may slide.
Disagree with y our statement saying Victor "Macho" Harris is overated. hes a low 4th Round Draft Pick that had big time production and is actually a perfect fit for our defense. Care to explain why you think he is overrated, b/c i can actually see it as a very good fit, especially for our defensive scheme.
Michael Johnson may be "overated" but if he slides to middle-low 2nd Round Im not positive I would make him that overated. Now if he went in the 1st round or high 2nd I could see that being overated. A RARE athlete who had above average production combined with great coaching is a risk Id be willing to take.
Sure he is a work out warrior but those types of players have worked out before.

Okay, here's my idea on an ideal, but possible draft.
Bears decide there isn't a WR worth it at 49 and trade down. I'm gonna go with 49 &119 to the Patriots for 58 & 89. (Another possibility is #49 to Titans for #62 an #94. Obviously either depends on the team agreeing to it. Something along these lines though).
#58- Rashad Johnson, FS, Alabama
#89- Juanquin Iglesias, WR, Oklahoma
#99- Darry Beckwith (LSU), Jason Phillips (TCU), or Zach Follet (Cal), LB
#140- Michael Bennet or Brandon Williams, DE, Texas A&M/Tech
#154- Marko Mitchell, WR, Nevada
#190- Brandon Hughes, CB, Oregon State
#246- QB
#251- OL
The DE,LB, and second WR could really go in a few different orders, depending on who's there and such, but thats just a general idea.

Argh. Poorly planned road trip house-hunting in FL. Keeping up but I hate posting using the Berry.
