Bosh or Gasol??????

Post#1 » by AP_cb4 » Thu Apr 23, 2009 9:05 pm

I'm a Raptors fan (I live in Toronto) . My friend and I were discussing who is a better player, Bosh or Gasol. I just wanted to know what you guys think?

Mosdef Gasol! Bosh is good but gasol is better.

equally spectacular offensively, Equally fragile defensively (although not the softest out there), however Gasol is smarter, better teammate, doesnt HAVE TO have the ball as much as Bosh, and most importantly -- better passser IMO.

If phil is our coach still... and the triangle is still our main offense.. then for sure Gasol.
Even though people complains of gasols' finesse, it allows him to be limber and get to the basket better i think.

But gasol has been solid for us ever since he joined the lakers. I wouldn't trade him for bosh.

I don't know guys, I'm torn. If we're talking about a trade straight up, I'd go with Bosh b/c he's 4 years younger.

Could you imagine the front court dominance of Bosh and Bynum for the next 10 years!

Gasol.

One of the great things about Pau is he will never complain about being 2nd in line, he understands his role on the team and will not let his ego get in the way of the team's goals. I'm not sure if Bosh would be the same (long term).

Yah and I bet a lotta people here would have bet money that 'BOSH and JO' was going to be an absolute monstrosity to play against. Well they sucked together IMO. I dont trust Bosh with Bynum! Lakers need IQ alongside Bynum and Gasol is as perfect a puzzle-piece as it's ever going to get. The only other alternative besides gasol is Duncan. Thats it. Nothing else is going to be as good a fit as Gasol.

Need not be torn bro..... I mean if you want younger, you will be introducing someone who is not familiar with the triangle (at Kobe's prime - not good). In that case, you might aswell trade Gasol for Blake Griffin. I mean let B-Geezy come in and develop under KAJ just like Bynum did. Now that combo is a monstrosity for the next 10 yrs!

Yeah, I agree that Pau is much better for this team. But that's why I'm torn. I feel Bosh is the better choice for the future. Its the same analysis every GM must go through in every potential trade scenario.

But, I will say that I wholly disagree with your use of the Bosh/JO analogy. JO is garbage and thats the reason why that combo didn't work. If you "alotta people here would have bet money that Bosh and JO was going to be an absolute monstrosity to play against" remind never to trust people here with my money :D . That trade was an experiment, at best. Two teams swapping injury prone players and each considering themselves lucky if there is any net gain.

really not sure how good bosh is but he seems as good or close to gasol's skill level so thats hard to call. as far as trading them for each other... if it aint broke dont fix it. Gasol fits into out offense perfectly, so i'd have to pass.
Greatest comment I've ever received.

Did Gasol all of sudden suck now? Did Gasol and Kobe start a feud? No? He's a keeper to me and not worth trading away because he's perfect in our system.

Bosh could go to the Celtics for all I care. Now they need some help.

As a first option, Bosh is better as he is much more explosive. As a second option, Gasol's better as he understands his role much better.
