Re: Not another Davis bashing thread...
I know you guys are a little slooowww in getting on the Davis train but he's a GOOD NBA basketballer. At this point there is simply no denying it. Now preference for a different player or not liking his style are another thing entirely but Davis has established himself as a solid backup and a respectable starter as a second year player on a championship calibre squad. All your delusions of Davis' suckiness have been destroyed. How does it feel?

Don't rub it in!
I still don't think he could be a quality 82-game starter on a contender, but filling in for KG he's been really good and coming off the bench he can be valuable!

Re: Not another Davis bashing thread...
I LOVE BIG BABY.
I love watching that round man play basketball. It isn't always pretty but it is a thing of beauty. He is rebounding and runs the floor about as well as a big man can, the quick hands, and hell he is even dunking.
I know that the Bulls front court is helping Davis quite a bit, he knows Thomas' game and the holes in it, Noah while very athletic is weak as hell and dumb as a stump, and Brad Miller, who I have always had an appreciation for, is showing why he wasn't drafted he is simply the most nonathletic man in the NBA.
But you know that Ainge's mailbox is full of messages from Baby and Rondo's agents right now.

Re: Not another Davis bashing thread...
I'm glad to see guys, especially Insatiable and Pete, change their tune on Baby. Well done guys. It takes a man to admit you're wrong.
I like to think I know a thing or two about judging basketball talent, but Baby continues to exceed my expectations. I've always enjoyed the Big Baby experience, but last year it was mostly because he was such an unusual player and had such a cool, fun-loving personality. This season, he's completely surprised me. The more he plays, the more hops he shows. That block on Noah? FANTASTIC! How about the weakside rejection of Rose's layup attempt? Freaking KG-like (as Donny noted in postgame). I never in my wildest dreams thought Baby had those plays in him.
With his recent play (since January of this year), Baby's ceiling seems unresolved at this point. I think his calling card will be offense throughout his career, though he's playing better and better on the defensive end the more he gets playing time. I expect him to add a 3 point shot in the next couple seasons (which will really open up his game--provided he doesn't fall in love with it) and become more efficient from the field. As always, his ability to remain in peak physical condition will determine his ability to realize his potential.
I think his defensive rebounding numbers are a concern of sorts, though I feel he's one of those types of players who box out but aren't necessarily able to get the rebound themselves. That's not necessarily a problem, provided your teammates can pick you up and get the rebound. Luckily for Davis (and the Cs), Baby plays with the best rebounding point guard in the league.

The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I still don't think he could be a quality 82 game starter on a title contender...more like a huge 6th or 7th guy off the bench. But he's been damn good in relief of KG in the starting lineup!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
