Too bad it's not Halladay vs Buerhle (sp?). Those are usually super quick games.

I say we lose 1-2, with Halladay pitching the winner, but would be THRILLED if we could do better than that. A 6 series winning streak would definitely be great :)

A 6-series streak would be really nice. Chicago's a pretty good team early this season though, so as long as we don't get swept, I'm happy.

I predict Kevin Millar will have 4 grand slams and somehow, a touchdown
...all in one game

Comiskey Park is beautiful. Man, it would be nice to have a real baseball field in Toronto, with real grass. Easier to attract free agents, too.

Of course, I wouldn't want Canadian governments to get conned into paying for it the way US cities and states do. Oh wait ...

Rogers Sportsnet likes to have all three of its colour guys (Pat Tabler, Rance Mulliniks and Darrin Fletcher) do some games in April/early May. Based on this, I expect Fletcher to be in the booth with Jamie Campbell for this series and the next one in Kansas City. Plus, Fletcher is from the Chicago area and he always does games at Chicago on Sportsnet.

Rance will most certainly (LOL, his favourite phrase) do the west coast games in early May (as he lives in California).

When the season started, this was my guess on the number of games each colour guy would do on Sportsnet (124 games in total):

Tabler: 58
Mulliniks: 41
Fletcher: 25 (mentioned in the Toronto Star earlier this month by Chris Zelkovich)

Both Tabler and Mulliniks did the same number of games for Sportsnet last year. The big difference this year is that we will see less of Rance and more of Darrin as CBC is no longer doing the games. Recall that Rance did another 24 games on CBC (with Jessie Barfield and Jim Hughson) last year. Rance did a total of 65 games while Darrin only did 5 games last year.

Great OP as always CS and hopefully you'll be still creating these for a long-time to come. :)

if we dont win this series, our awesome start would almost be a fluke. theyre the first team we face who are actually really good this season. if we cant beat them, we cant contend, unless all their runs are unearned.

That seems a little extreme. Good teams lose to good teams in their buildings all of the time. Even the WS Champs will lose to good teams in their ballparks a few times in a season.

disagreed... no need to hit the panic button like that... what if the red sox loses to a series to the royals? it's no biggie IMO...

not sure why/how you can place the entire fate of the whole season on this little 3-game series :-?

agreed, i always hope for grass on Rogers Center... I think Minnesota and Tampa are the other teams who use the same surface as the Jays, and aren't both having new stadiums shortly? we're gonna be the only team with turf, which I think isn't good at all..

I like Fletch as well. On other forums that I lurk, people seem to dislike him. I find a lot of his commentary to be funny.

Here's for another series win and another thread for Sens.

Let's goooooo. A 5-2 roadie would be amazing. We will find a way to win this series.

As for the game threads, the good luck dates back to when Ozzy made the opening series thread. Kudos to him as well.

Uh...just no. Nothing in that post is right at all.

And bad teams.
