The Blazer dancers are no more offensive because of their attractiveness than the Blazer players are. Their dances and outfits are no more sexual than the main event.

I don't mind the outfits. I've seen a lot more offensive stuff than what dancers wear.

While I agree that the way the lady came across was a little extreme, I don't think she is off the mark. The point is not that they are dancing provocatively, but that they are doing so publicly at a venue that is meant to be family oriented and accessible to any kind of audience. Are we going to say that anyone who doesn't like it doesn't have to watch? And if we took that approach, where does it stop.

No one is attempting to dictate what you are allowed to do in the privacy of you own home or other designated area, but this is a Blazer game. I have had similar thoughts about cheerleaders in all sports. Is it "wrong"? Well, that is left the each individual to decide... however if it is allowed to be broadcast or displayed publicly, then someone else is determining what is "right" or "wrong" for the viewer.

Sport should be sport and sexually explicit or suggestive behavior doesn't have to be part and parcel.

If we can separate the two, then no one is pushing their morals on anyone else. Unless of course you feel that your children should watch attractive women dance suggestively with little clothing.

Also, about the Hooters comment... there are literally hundreds of restaurants to choose from in Portland/Oregon/Idaho/Washington... but currently there is only one professional basketball team. Its not even close to the same thing.

When I return home I watch the Blazer games all the time with my mom (Yes she loves basketball & the Blazers) and have never once heard her complain about the Blazer dancers.

Really? I must say that's somewhat surprising to me.

I don't know if anybody can confirm this, but Isaac & Suke were saying Blaze makes around 75,000 a year.

What probably happened was something along these lines...

This lady and her husband probably have been going to games for years... They were at the game on Tuesday and at a timeout at the end of the fourth the Blazer Dancers came out..

Everyone is standing up and clapping and watching the girls do their routines while this lady is still sitting down, shoving buttery popcorn in her face. Then it hits her! She looks up and sees her husband oogling the girls goodies.. As she sits there staring up at the entertained look on his face, with unpopped popcorn cournals on her cheek and butter dripping off of her chin. She realizes that she's not the woman she once was and she can't put that look on her husbands face anymore..

GET OVER IT WOMAN!!!!!! Cheerleaders have been entertainment at sporting events since organized sports began and there not going to magically disappear because you've gained 50lbs and you have no confidence. Get over it..

i dont get the gripe.... I'm not sure how summers are in Oregon but shoot go to a beach your gonna see a lot worse.

Its not like the blazers dancers would get sighted in public for indecent exposure. Sounds like some fat old people are just jealous that A. They dont have a nice body or B. They couldnt get a girl with a hot body. Envy is a B word lol.

Having said that the people who complain can stay home, didnt really seem like ticket sales were a problem.

Why would I expect Hooters to close their doors? It's not a place that is trying hard to appeal as a family venue like the Rose Garden.
