That's about where I stand. From an outsider's perspective, Gasol makes a great second option and he's certainly fine with his role. If there wasn't any Kobe on LA, it may seem a bit more plausible being that Bosh is the better go-to guy of the two (that's not a knock on Gasol, I just see Bosh as a guy more capable of putting up big numbers when needed. That said, he wouldn't be the go-to guy, everybody knows this is Kobe's team and I just can't see him matching Gasol's production playing second fiddle (specifically with less touches).

This is ridiculous, Gasol is the better go to guy.

Pau is the better player.

I watch a lot of Raptors, living in Canada, and he settles for the 15-18 foot jump shot way too much. Yeah, he knocks them in at a good clip, but he settles.

Pau is the better passer, has a better post game, and the better shot blocker.

Bosh has better athleticism, better driving ability, and that's about it. They both have their moments of toughness on defense, but for the most part, they're even in that category. They're even when it comes to rebounding, although Bosh does a little bit better job of boxing out his man. He could definitely improve that though. Pau has the bigger body and his post defense is much better than Bosh.

So, overall, I would say Pau Gasol.

Close call, but I think Kobe made Gasol's game a lot easier (just look at his increased fg%). Bosh is still the focus of the defense every night, and I think he's a better scorer and rebounder. His athleticism also helps him defensively. Pau's a very good passer though. Tough call, but in the midst of the playoffs, can't be pooping on our own man.

It's really close, but Pau isn't a whiner. Bosh wants out of Toronto and complained this season about Shaq sitting in the key over three seconds. I thought that was pretty weak.

Gasol.
Perfect fit for our triangle offense.
Improving defensively.
Solid rebounder.
Awesome BBall IQ.
Great team player.
Very good low post player.

Bosh is very very good, but with this team, I'd rather have Gasol.

It depends.. As it's very difficult to forecast another player's ability in any other system other than what you see...

For example, I would take Toronto Chris Bosh over Memphis Pau Gasol any day of the week, and I'm sure if they were offering you the choice between the two last season the consensus would have probably been Bosh all the way..However, you get the opportunity to see how Pau works within the framework of your team, so now the opinion changes obviously... Yet, nobody knows for sure how Bosh would operate with that type of talent either ??

It's all about fits of course, but if talent translated in some regard ? Bosh would probably be the way to go.. But, as is, you have to go with Pau because, at the very least, you know how well it does indeed work..

if you put this on any other teams board they would easyly say Bosh

Other then D. HOward Bosh is the only player who avraged 20 and 10 boards this season

if bosh played for the lakers and didnt face double teams everyday he would recognized even more then he is now.

in my opinion Bosh is without question better player then Gasol the only thing Gasol could do better is pass and his might be a little better but not by much, other then that bosh is better in every other category.

if Gasol would was playing for Memphis and not LA and you asked this board who would they want on their team, i bet every poster would say Bosh.

bosh jones ford, yea man you can say that sure, but I really really think character is the intangible and pau is a worker and a team guy, bosh already wants out of toronto, and whines a lot. Pau has been consistant all year and his jumper is getting wetter by the day.

How do you know Bosh wants out of TO?
- in the season exit interview he said he wanted to stay in TO and he might even talk about an extension this summer.

What does he wine about??

+ if i can recall correctly Pau wanted out of Memphis (how is that any different from if the Bosh situation was True) + obviously if your playing for the lakers who are one of the best teams your not gonna want out.

Bosh is also a team player, he is not as good of a passer (stats wise) but i mean look at his games with team USA.

^good points. I think Bosh gets bum rap. He's the only superstar that has actually wanted to play for Toronto.

Besides, to be fair, us Kobe fans can never callout a player for expressing his discontent with his current team and/or roster, lest we forget the parking lot video, etc.

I agree with both these posts... I give both Bosh and Amare a slight advantage over Gasol because I think they are more talented but that doesnt mean that I would trade Gasol for either one of them

Gasol > Bosh (even on the defensive end)

No way. I'm superstitious. The Lakers have been doing great ever since I put that in my sig. Sacrifice it for the team mang. 8-)

People put Bosh down because he is on the Raptors, but he still puts up 23 a game and 10 boards. Frankly, when a player is on a team like the Lakers they automatically gain more recognition (ie Shannon Brown, Trevor Ariza, etc) and who knows what Bosh could do under Phil and along side Kobe. I'm not necessarily saying that I'd prefer to have Bosh, but the thought of him in a Laker uniform is interesting to say the least

Problem with getting Bosh is that he overlaps a lot more with Odom's scoring areas and efficiency. The advantage of having Gasol is the added bonus of Odom's efficiency.
