Saturday, April 25, 2009 @ Energy Solutions Arena

Starting Lineups

Utah
PG Deron Williams
SG Ronnie Brewer
SF Andrei Kirilenko (Most likely GTD)
PF Carlos Boozer
C Mehmet Okur (GTD)
http://www.deseretnews.com/article/7052 ... ame-4.html

Los Angeles
PG Derek Fisher
SG Kobe Bryant
SF Trevor Ariza
PF Paul Gasol
C Andrew Bynum

I can easily see the Jazz winning this game, but I can also easily see them losing it. Obviously, we're going to look for big games from Deron and Carlos, but as proven in the last game, our bench is going to need to step it up. I haven't heard anything new about Okur's status, but having him in will give us a big advantage for game 4, just because he'll most likely spread the Laker defense and make Bynum tired.

Booze was right last night when he said that the Jazz won because the Lakers scored 86 points. Statistics like that are going to be key, as well as getting off to a good, powerful start as demonstrated in Game 3.

We all know this is going to be a close one, so definitely look for Deron to make some more huge shots.

One more thing- what do you think is the best strategy (not like what we think will change anything, but I'm just curious) as suggested by various commentators. I've heard two big ones so far: 1. Make Kobe a scorer and 2. Don't let the little guys beat you (Brown, Ariza, Fisher). Contradictory sportscasting...definitely not new to me.

The key is to stop their big guys and make Kobe do it alone. Brown has come back to earth, and Ariza is a terrible shooter no matter what anyone says--so leaving one of them isn't too bad--if they start hitting those shots then we just need to man up, but otherwise keep doing what we're doing with AK rotating down with the help-D and Brewer doing all he can on Kobe. Oh, and boxing out Lamar Odom, that would help too....

The poll options don't seem mutually exclusive to me. In fact, if we do one, it probably means we've done the other.

I didn't find any news about GTD for AK.

I suppose I meant which one should be emphasized or which one would make the bigger difference.

Now can you elaborate on AK being a GTD.

Not a bad sports watching day today. Nuggs @ Hornets @ 11, Yanks @ Red Sox/NFL Draft @ 2, JAZZ @ 7.

Speaking of the Yanks . . . here is an interesting stat. The Yankees and the Jazz have never won on the same day since the start of the MLB Season . . . so if the Yanks win today . . . watch out.

A more interesting stat; I have never watched a baseball game on the day of a jazz game.
