Couldn't agree with you more, a much overrated player. Also a bad attitude and an embarassment to the celtics organization.

You want to get rid of a proven scorer and defender (when healthy) who will receive a modest contract for nothing??

who cares if people want to kill him. Tony Allens gonna play a big role if the celtics are gonna go deep this year

If tony ever gets healthy for a while he could have a ricky davis type prime imo. except he can play defense so hes better

yeah let's get rid of a guy for someone wanting to kill him, not the other way around!

...no...this is a stupid reason to get rid of him.

This is really a simple thing.

He's got to set his "hood pride" aside and become a functioning member of society. This means settling his debt (your life > money... you're an nba player for goodness sakes).

Its tough to judge without knowing more about the situation, or at least being around Tony and getting a first hand feel for how he has been dealing with this, and where he might have fit in it all. This could easily just be some old friends of his getting themselves in trouble and Tony being the target of their opponent since he has the most money.

I disagree, I think it's easy to judge at this point.

If going on trial for involvement in a gun shooting wasn't enough for Tony Allen to get the message (ditch your scumbag hometown friends) and now his friends are linked to a homicide, I'm sorry, the guy is never going to learn.

I don't think this affects the Celtics, at all, on the court -- only Tony Allen's life. As I said before, if he's been too dumb to untangle himself from gang banging friends, well? He gets what he gets.

You can lead a horse to water...

That guy's a bad seed.

Meh, I'm not going to judge a guy based on some media rumor. He keeps his act together on the court, you never hear a complaint about him as a team mate, who cares about some wiretap story that seems thin at best?

I am indifferent about this. Tony Allen is just not a useful basketball player and his personal life doesn't appear much better. Either he is hurt or turning the ball over. Time to turn the page.

No need for you to come in here and act like this. In no way does my comments display any sort of heartless. I have seen this crap from Tony Allen since he has been here. I certainly wish him no harm, rather I would rather him realize the opportunity that has been afforded to him in life. It is time for Tony to grow up as a person. Now I am not saying he did anything "wrong" however, you also have to be careful with who you associate yourself with. As a person, I hope Tony takes these situations seriously. As a basketball player, I really don't see anything that makes me think he can contribute consistently on a championship contending team. That is my opinion and if you don't agree with it, so be it. But don''t come on to the Celtics board as the moral police calling posters names and instigating. Thank you. Canman

It's about loyalty the man has two wiretaps (it's hard for even Kobe and Lebron to get two wiretaps at the same time) which shows this is getting beyond a guy talking smack so to speak.

I apologize for being so aggressive toward you or any of the posters on this board but I just don't want anything like the Sean Taylor or even more recently the Carl Landry incident to happen again.

This has nothing to do with basketball and before my intial post I realized that even on the Celtics forum there is a "Should Ainge move Allen" topic which I percieved as a thread related to Allen and his basketball career as a Celtic and how it should/is being percieved by Ainge and fans. This topic "Allen is is deep poo" is based on Tony Allen the person outside of basketball and the increasing level of danger this man and his family face. I guess it seemed people on this topic kept the two subjects as one and the responses came off incentive considering the sitiuation. From all I know Allen didn't kill or shot at anyone, at the moment he was in a fight (personally and and as some may agree if a fight is absolutely necessary rather be a fist fight than with guns)the man doesn't deserve this kind of stress. Fans would then be shocked if they wake up one mourning and read "NBA player Tony Allen found dead" it's not something that shouldn't be taken lightly even by the lowest of bench players. Overall does Allen hold responsiblity for his actions of course every person breathing should but some actions don't equal out to be threatened to lose you or your loved ones lives.

This is not directed at you but some posts it felt like fans wanted to dump him on some other team before someone killed him to avoid the media attention. Not cool, that is uncalled for in my opinion. Again I apologize for the previous aggressive tone but this kind of stuff goes beyond fan support of a team and into hoping another young player isn't slain in a senseless fight.

^agree with both of you. If it had said "proven idiot and poor decision-maker, both on and off the court", then yeah, I can agree with that!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!
