Would you trade Bynum+draft pick for Marc Gasol+draft pick?

For sure, Bynum has more potencial, but after the injuries....and you would have a chance to get a good player in the draft.

To be fair, the last injury wasn't Bynum's fault. Kobe ran into him for God's sake. I bet him Kobe did the same to Marc, he be limping too.

Marc and Bynum are good talents. But I think Bynum gives the Lakers a good chance of winning now.

If I had a time machine and could grab a more experienced Marc Gasol, I would. But if I had a time machine, I be a rich man right now.

at OP, is this a serious question?

sure we'd love marc back, but for bynum? we wouldnt trade bynum for oj mayo + lottery pick!

maybe if memphis wanted one of our non-core players instead

Injuries to the knees (the part of the body that takes the most wear and tear over a season), don't just happen, then go away with no lingering effects. We likely won't see the Bynum we extended at 4 years $50M. That guy with potential to be the best in the league, is likely gone.

Bynum will be struggling to make it back on the court consistently, with regular starters minutes for the rest of his career. And the explosion we saw before the first injury hasn't been the same (even since he came back this season, before going down again).

Would I take Marc Gasol's + his salary for Bynum: My opinion would be YES, astoundingly so.

If the Grizzlies got a top 2, and Rubio is as good as people are hyping him up I would consider it... otherwise hell no

And Rubio would have to BLOW ME AWAY in workouts

Make it OJ Mayo and Marc Gasol for Bynum and you have a deal. Bynum's knees will forever be a problem......

cant' help but think this is a kneejerk reaction from the last couple games? Maybe after game 3 we should've traded Kobe for Jason Richardson since Kobe was 5-24 from the field.

by the way, no way.

I would if Memphis had a top-two pick in the draft. If you can get Rubio or, preferably, Griffin, it would be a deal worth considering, at least. Aside from that, no way.

Why so rude? The guy is from Spain and he is obviously rooting for the Gasol Brothers to play in LA with each other. (which will be quite a sight to behold, in my opinion).

And of course, I wouldn't trade Andrew for Marc.

Players I'd trade Bynum for in this league:
Dwight
CP3
Deron
Lebron
D-Wade
Duncan
Billups

Marc Gasol is not on this list, so no.

I didn´t know you ranked Bynum so high. I just watch 15 -20 games of Lakers each year (and halve those games, Bynum is injured or recovering so I haven´t seen him many times).

Experience? In NBA game, for sure, Bynum wins, but Gasol has been in more "win or go home" situations: World Championishp, European Championiship, Olympics and spanish playoffs

Anyway, even considering Bynum a better player, not always the best player is better for the team. The chemistry between Gasol brothers will be great. Marc is a very good passer and it would fit perfectly in Lakers system.

Besides, his salary will always be lower than Bynum´s.

I think in three years:

Bynum 18 ppg, 11 rbd 11.000.000 $
Marc 14 ppg 9 rbd 7.000.000 $

And this season has been:

Bynum 14.3 ppg 8 rbd 1.8 blk 56%fg in 28.9 min
Marc 11.9 ppg 7.4 rbd 1.1 blk 53%fg in 30.7 min

Not a very big difference. Yes, the injury, I know.

AND the change of getting Blake or Rubio in the draft. I think Rubio will boost the game of Lakers.

So, I a´m not saying is a great trade, but it´s one to consider.

If you're talking Rubio or Griffin then surely Lakers take a hard thought about that. Especially since Rubio seems to have impressed a lot of our European scouts including Mitch Kupchak. It'd be wonderful to have him develop while Kobe, Pau and LO keep contending for titles at the moment and have him boost us in a couple of years' time.

I think Lakers would do the trade if it would be Rubio or Griffin and Marc for Bynum + pick, but I´m not sure if they would do the trade right now, with only a chance to get one of them. In fact, Memphis only have a 7.5% of taking the first pick (I don´t know chances for second).

In the worst scenario, Memphis select 7th or 8th. I don´t know Jarden, Derozan, Hill or Jennings so I don´t know if one of these players + Marc is good enough for the trade.

No this draft is very weak outside the top 2 and I don't think Bynum is worth losing for any of those guys.

+1. If it's a top 2 pick, then yeah I'd consider it, as much as I am excited about Bynum...

Though the chances are slim on many levels.
