do you believe that some things just arn't meant to be?

Post#1 » by Matt34520 » Sun Apr 26, 2009 8:56 pm

I knew we were going to lose today. I just knew it, I knew that no matter we did.......even if LeBron and Kobe joined are team at half time.....it just wasn't going to happen. It was written in stone, the Bulls were in Chicago...they needed this win, otherwise we were going to bounce them on Tuesday.

Even when we were up by 3 in OT #1, I knew Gordon would make that 3. Its almost like it was scripted like a movie.

Do you guys believe in fate? or luck in sports? Or does it have nothing to do with that? in your opinion...

Nope- thought we had a very good chance to win the game when we were up 105-100. Then Salmons hit the three and everything went downhill from there...

but its weird, because I knew somehow.....someway......it can't be that easy for us.........we had to lose. it would too easy just to win, and then end the series on Tuesday...

I knew they were going to lose, but I have an ever present and overwhelming pit of despair in my stomach. I think I'm only right about 20% of the time, but it doesn't deter me. I'm a fighter.

I only think any C team (this goes back many moons) normally plays 8 vs 5 and has to play smart and they didn't yesterday. We didn't get some calls or some bounces and made some dumb plays. Here's the good part 2 of the next 3 are at home. So smile. 8-) it could be a lot worse. 8-)

Theres nothing to hate, just answer the damn question and move on........

Thanks to anyone who just answered the question. And I don't think the Celtics are going to lose every game, in fact, I think we will win Tuesday.....

the question was, are you superstitious about sports?

Not superstitious, although I do believe the NBA is not on the level, and I'm not just saying this because of the huge anti-Celtics bias that has existed since 1950 (see: 2006 NBA finals, 2002 WCF, 2001 ECF, etc)...

The NBA is the sport that is least applicable to superstition. The refs decide who wins each game... And you can see it every game. That guy in the striped shirt is the one who decides that game, not some magical element.
