How many native Washingtonians (or surrounding suburb natives) have played or coached for the Bullets/Wizards?

Timothy Eugene "Legs" Legler (born December 26, 1966 in Washington, D.C.

Edward Montgomery "Eddie" Jordan (born January 29, 1955 in Washington, D.C.

Juan Dixon (born October 9, 1978 in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.

I know there are/were a few others.

I guess it all depends on ones definition of a native.
Does playing high school or college basketball locally make one a native?
I usually only reserve the term native for one who was born locally within the immediate area.

I am often very outspoken when it comes to ones native or transplant status.

Juan Dixon is not a native Washingtonian. But Dave Bing is. He played briefly for the Bullets 1975-77.

Also Anthony Jones and Dunbar D.C. From UNLV and GTown. Was taken in the late first round and was traded to the Spurs after 16 games.

Well I make no apologies for being pro native.

In fact, transplants are the ones who give the people in this area a bad rep

The natives are all quite friendly actually

Thanks to all the transplants who have moved here, this area is overrun by impatient, high-strung Type A ladder-climbers on power trips.

Anthony Tucker was born in DC and was a Bullet for one season. (I remember seeing him with McKinley in a HS tournament IIRC against Sam Cassell's Baltimore Dunbar team.)

Claude Gregory went to Coolidge and briefly played for the Bullets.

Mike Smith (not the one drafted by MJ, but the PF) played a few seasons for the Bullets. (Bit of trivia: Gar Heard started him over Juwan Howard.)

Baltimore's own and the shortest man to play in the NBA, Muggsy Bogues was a Bullet.

Carroll High grad and former Syracuse player Lawrence Moten got some run with the Bullets/Wizards during the 97-98 season. Moten was also an all-met CB/S in h.s. football. He used some of those same instincts and toughness as a b'ball player.

Yeah, Moten wasn't much at the NBA level. But I wouldn't call him "garbage." In fact, he's the all-time leading scorer in Syracuse b'ball history. That's ahead of folks like Derrick Coleman, Dave Bing, Gerry McNamara, Sherman Douglas and John Wallace.

If I am not mistaken both Alex the BULLET and Tiny the BULLET were Baltimore natives as well.

If you want to count where guys played in college, as opposed to where they grew up, the list grows:

Larry Stewart also played at Coppin State (but was from Philly IIRC)

Gene Shue (B More guy who coached the team when it was in B More), John Lucas, Tom McMillan, Lawrence Boston, Laron Profit, Steve Blake, Lonny Baxter, Juan Dixon are all UMCP guys who were Bullets/Wizards. (I looked up three or four I'd forgotten about or who were before my time.)

Jahidi White went to Georgetown (however, he came from St. Louis, MO -- I remember because I lived near there back when he, Larry Hughes, and Darius Miles were all local HS or college ballers. Chris Carawell of Duke went the same HS as Jahidi IIRC. Darius Miles, along with LaPhonso Ellis are actually from across the river in E. St Louis, IL.).

Alex the Bullet, Tiny BB, and Tiny II...all from Chief Gentry in Baltimore.

Those 3 were more loyal than most.

In fact sometimes I wish they were all still here so that could carry out a pack attack on G-WIZ.
