With so many young players and pitchers it really could go either way. If we survive the injuries and play competitively with NY/BOS, I'll get more optimistic. Like most have said, you can't really know until heading into August.

With the bad seasons that the Raptors and Leafs had, you would think that the Jays would have increased interest and ticket sales this season but it hasn't been the case. I think all the early pessimism prior to the season just made everyone think that the team was destined to finish last in the division for sure.

One thing I've noticed is that when I read articles by American writers about the division or the AL, they are only interested where the Yankees and Red Sox are as if some how they are the de facto leaders of the division. A little respect would be nice.

All star break. Don't get me wrong though, I'm excited at their start but I've been let down by the Jays many times before.

The Jays have not done anything to gain that respect yet. They've been a mediocre team for many seasons now. The Yanks and Sox have earned respect after many good regular seasons + postseasons.

Not just yet, but I will not be ashamed to display my homerism by being the first to call this team legit when the time is right. Sooner rather than later.

this has been a pleasant surprise... given the question mark about the starting rotation entering the season, and the struggling offense from last season, i don't think any of us expected this. And I'm lovin it right now..

I just wish we had marcum and dustin back. I think this offense is legit but the pitching outside of halladay is making me think we will just fade later in the season.

Mid to high in 80's is not mediocre in baseball. I don't really know why we believe that, somewhere in the low 80's to high 70's is mediocre, but I shouldn't nit-pick like that, we haven't really been in contention for the last few years, which is what really counts.

I had a weird feeling before the season began that we might surprise some people, but I never expected this. And I don't think anyone expected us to be playing .600 baseball, at best i though we would be a few games above .500 which would be awesome in my mind.

Also Bob McCowan did predict above 90 wins, so the first month and some should boost his ego by a ton :P
