Hopefully we get that last game against Kansas City today & we should sweep the Yankees IMO, there pitching has been horrible and there offense should be slowed down by our pitching unless Verlander continues to struggle, Porcello is looking better and better by the start

Porcello has looked good IMO. The best thing about this kid is that he doesn't get rattled. Someone scores a HR off him and he just goes right back out there and retires players one by one. Maybe he should have a talk with Verlander about composure on the mound.

I think the first game will be the hardest, just because CC wants to avenge his poor start in a Yankees uniform and Verlander has been shakey. The other two look favorable for us. I'd be very pleased with 2-1 series win.

Tigers better kick some ass. I've always hated the Yankees. Not as much as the White Sox, but still just about as much as I do with the Indians.

The Yankees have the highest ERA in the league.

Batter up....

Of course, we don't get to face their really bad pitchers, but oh well.

Unfortunately, Wang has been placed on the DL with an Anxiet... I mean... Injury. Although Phil Hughes hasn't fared well in the majors either. I like Edwins matchup in that game.

We need our batting order to go to town on Yankees pitchers. Help Verlander out with some run support and try and get a clean sweep.

At least now with the Red Wings resting for round two, Pistons being down for the season and the Lions finishing their draft.... the Tigers should have the spotlight the next few nights.

We need to light up CC early and let Justin have a lead.

Joba v Porcello is an interesting young matchup. Lets see how Rick handles the biggest team in the majors

This could be a REALLY tough outing for Verlander.

The Yankees have a pretty disciplined lineup, and he dances around the strikezone way to much. They could eat him alive.

Of course, this could be where he turns it around, too.

Great win. Verlander actually didn't implode.

Verlander was fantastic tonight. Hopefully this is the start that gives him the confidence to keep on going.

Rodney was a little scary in the 9th though, goodness. 4 run lead and all the sudden tie run at the plate. eesh.

I am surprised and very pleased by Verlander's performance.

Hopefully Rodney's proclamation that he's "back" wasn't premature.

WHEW!! good win for the Tigers and great first W for Verlander. I hope this gives him that boost to keep it on track.

Edwin today should have a good game.

I'd love nothing more than a sweep of the Yankees right now.

Anybody else notice Chien-Ming Wang has an ERA of 34.5?

:o

Pity we can't face him because he's hurt.

He's not hurt, he's on the DL cause he sucks. He has given up 23 earned runs in 6 IP. And, he doesn't even have the worst ERA on his own team.

The guy with the best ERA on the team is Nick Swisher with his 1 IP. LMAO.

^I see.

Well, OFFICIALLY he's listed as injured, but yeah, if I'm a manager and a pitcher gets off to that miserable a start I look for any excuse to give them time off.

No runs scored heading into the 6th....

I mean, games that are pitchers duels through 7 innings usually don't end in 11 run shalackings.

Thats not the way of the world.

Ugh...
