3-4 defense?

Post#1 » by Godzilla039 » Mon Apr 27, 2009 1:56 am

What do you guys think about us switching to a 3-4 defense??

I now we don't have the players for it now, but what about in a year or two??
Just a must-watch army of possessed ass-kickers laying the smack down night after night after night. People are gonna hate playing the Bulls this year.

Unless we switch coaches, then we are not going to a 3-4 defense.

So, we don't have the coaching personnel or the players, then it would be really hard. I do personally enjoy the 3-4, but the Cover 2 is fine with me if you can get it to work at the level we had it when we made that Superbowl run.

That's what all the smart GM's/coaches/teams choose.

Pretty soon, the 4-3 defense will be the one that's harder to figure out because everyone will be in the 3-4; it's the "cool" thing to do, apparently.

It would be a totally un-Bearslike thing to do but who thought the Packers would ever switch over?

NoSkyy said it best - it would require a total rebuild from the coaching staff on down and that won't happen unless Lovie puts up a super crap season.
Turn down for what?

This is my hope. I would like to see 3/4 or more of the league adopt the 3-4. We would benefit immensely in the draft as the Steelers have for years being one of the few 3-4 teams. While everyone else looks for those tweener outside LB/DE the 4-3 guys would just drop to us.
