Sorry bud, i love you, but you have no idea what you're talking about here. I know Bill somewhat personally, and that is just a complete fallacy. The guy gets paid to write to ESPN, not the Boston Globe. He can't just write how awesome the Celtics are all the time. Once upon a time he did that, and he almost got fired. He makes bank writing for ESPN, the mecca for most sportswriters. Personally, I've never gotten the hate for him. He's a national writer that gives Boston teams ever more national spotlight.

I don't know, maybe I'm biased because of my relationship with him, but I think he's damn good.

Not that you actually cameup with any good reasons to backup your reasons why he doesnt suck, since all you did was break down my post and even then your giving him credit for being in a playoff team that barley made it to the playoff with winning only half of their games.

It might help your cause if you just admit that you guessed about his rebounding numbers.

I was talking about his entire career, but Ohhhhhh, you know what your right.
So his entire career he has average 6.6 rpg which to me is below average for a ture center that was a 9th pick but in his first playoffs against The Cs he has average 17.0 rpg.
Honestly if I was you I wouldnt even brought that up, cause all it did was prove that the Cs are being out rebounded by one man that is putting up career numbers against Perkins and Davis. :dontknow:

I remember at one point, if Noah had come out a year earlier he was a probable number 1 pick

I agree with Tony right now that Noah is not a great player, although I disagree that he is a poor rebounder. Having said that, if he sees more minutes I think he will put up similar stats to Perk, but still much less effective than Perk.

Well to clear things up, I probably shouldnt have said he sucks, cause true he led his team to a NCAA title and he did get drafted 9th, he is in the NBA, but to me he isnt what he was all hyped out to be, sort of like a lot of players in the league these days.
As far as rpg, well he is averaging 6.6 in 2nd year and 6.7ppg, not really impressive, but ya he is averaging 17 against you guys, but that doesnt really make him an allstar, all it shows is that he is having a good playoff series against the you guys.
Now if K.G was playing then I bet you we wouldnt be having this conversation.

How many rebounds per game would you like in 22.5 minutes? 9? 10?

Noah averages 14.1 rebounds per 48 minutes. Those are good numbers. They're better then those of, say, Kendrick Perkins (13.0).

What you COULD do here is just admit that you jumped to a conclusion based off of three games (three games in which he's managed to average 11.7 rebounds) and then tried to defend it (and with it, your pride) without the basis on which to do so. You still have a chance to do that. because all the evidence is telling us that Joakim Noah is a good rebounder.

in his first playoffs against The Cs he has average 17.0 rpg.

Oh, so you're not talking about his entire career any more.

Ok, I respect your opinion since you know him and all. What I mentioned in my post, however, is the general feeling of a LOT of New England/Boston fans toward him, both people I know personally and online. I understand he writes for ESPN and has to be (somewhat) objective, but a lot of the national spotlight he gives the Boston teams makes us look like even bigger dickheads than how the national media/opposing fans already view us. Plus he comes off like a know-it-all when it comes to hoops, and I'm not saying he doesn't know a lot about hoops, but he's not the MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE FAN ever, the way he tries to come off (or so it seems)...I may not have had season tickets with my dad for 35 years the way he did, but I think I have a pretty damn good grasp on hoops from watching it on TV and playing it over my 30 years on this earth. And a lot of other posters on here (and people I know in real life) feel the same way.

He is a good writer. I don't know about anyone else by my disdain comes from what I feel is a line he crosses way to often. Its one thing to anonymously criticize coaches, players, and organizations on a message board. Its another thing to be a national writer and actively try to get a coach fired (and in his case multiple coaches), under the pretext that you really pay attention to coaches other than Doc (and Dunleavy) and actually pretend to have more bball knowledge than said coach. Of course we are going to be aware of Docs mistakes in way that we aren't going to be about say Scotty Brooks. It says a lot about ones character to be willing to do that.
