All-Favorite:
PG - Chris Paul, Devin Harris, DJ Augustin
SG - Allen Iverson, Manu Ginobili, Ronnie Brewer
SF - LeBron, Kevin Durant, Caron Butler, Gerald Wallace, Stephen Jackson, Ron Artest
PF - Dirk, JSmoove, Amare
C - Yao, D.Howard, Shaq

All-Hate:
PG - Deron, Billups, Kidd
SG - Wade, Kobe, Hughes, Crawford
SF - Pierce, Deng, Mike Miller
PF - Tim Thomas, Antoine Walker (well I guess it's too late for that one)
C -Varejao, Blatche, Dalembert, Noah

In general I try to just appreciate players for what they can and cannot do... some of these guys are on here just because I always seem to either be defending them or attacking them relative to how others on RealGM consider them (Iverson, Dirk, Yao, Kobe, Pierce, Kidd, Billups). Others I really liked in college, like Brewer, CP3, Augustin, Durant, and Smoov (wait, what?), or like their style of play (Amare, Howard, Smoov, Harris, Wallace, Shaq). Jackson and Butler I have attachments to for fantasy reasons, Artest and Jackson because of insanity.

Wade I hate because of that awful Finals, Miller and Hughes because they ruined my fantasy teams at some point, Deng and Blatche because of failed potential, Crawford, Thomas and Walker because they suck, Dalembert for his earlier years where he was just a hack machine, and Varejao and Noah because of a combination of hair and what I perceive as lack of skill.

A lot of this has nothing to do with talent but rather personality:

Current players:

Chris Andersen
Kevin Martin (god what an ugly shot)
John Salmons
Courtney Lee
Jason Richardson
Gerald Wallace
Marvin Williams
Paul Milsap
Joe Johnson

I have a thing for liking the underrated/unremarkable players.

All time?

Kurt Rambis
Jerry West
Charles Oakley
Dennis Rodman
David Thompson
Charles Barkley

We got alot in commen. Randolph Childress I don't know why but seeing him in college was like watching Reggie Miller on steroids or so I thought. I thought that guy would be great in the pro's. James Forrest is a guy who never made it who I thought would be awesome in collge watching him.
There actually the reason why I studied so hard as a kid to figure out who would be good in the pro's because I was wrong about them 2.

I also really like

Kidd and Kmart.

Players I hate

Ammo-dont know what there is to like about him. he looks like an idiot with the stach to.
Duncan
Shaq
Carter-I hate guys who don't live up to potential
Sheed-Look above
Zack
Marbury-Only because I loved him so much as a young player. What a waste.
Reggie Miller-Was a Knicks fan as a child
Walker
Tim Thomas
Noah-His suit on draft day
Wade-His clothes, that style will be made fun of on vh1 sooner then later
Howard-He is on my favorites list also but my hates because he smiles way to much.

yeah, everyone thought james forrest would be a beast in the pros... he had the nba body with a jumper. but he stayed in school that extra year and it killed him. so strange.

childress was a monster. man i loved his game. i think randolph came along at a bad time. in the mid 90s, combo guards were out of style. everyone wanted big, strong defensive sgs... MJ stoppers. nobody was going small in the backcourt with guys like randolph. also, he got hurt his rookie year and it really killed any chances he had of staying around. such a shame. if he came out today, he'd be a 10-20 range pick and would make it as a combo guard for many years.

Dex's inclusions of Noah and Wade because of their fashion choices made me laugh :D

Walt Cronkite's favorites to watch:

MJ-you got me hooked on NBA style basketball as a child

Yao/Duncan- I didn't appreciate the talented big guys when I was a kid, so I make sure to not make that mistake again now.

Penny-You seemed like you'd be a legend when I was growing up.

Gil-fingers crossed, you were in the running for my favorite player of all time before the knee problems that have robbed all of us of your prime.

Nash/Kidd/Paul-love PGs with the ability to make their teammates better than they should be.

Rodman-All our rebounds were belong to you.

Reggie Miller- always found myself rooting for his teams. I'd be a better shooter if I idolized you more as a developing player and Kidd less :D

Iverson-soft spot in my heart for the little guy that's a challenge to build a team around.

I'll add guys as they come to me, but I've put a good amount of thought into those selections. I watched a lot of Bulls games as a kid, so I should probably add Kukoc and Pippen. Related: What's the best place to watch old games or highlights? I'm guessing NBAtv, but if anyone knew anywhere else I'd appreciate it.

Does TWC Raleigh carry ESPN Classic? I caught an old Lakers playoff game a few weeks ago...the team that had the 3 rings.

Dr. J was my first fav as a kid, and of course Magic/Worthy/Jabaar/Perkins...that's always the group I hold the highest so far as best team. MJ from then on.

trenton hassell? really? wow. you must be the only hassell fan on the planet, besides his parents of course, but even they realize he is just a boring defensive guard. haha. j/k.

I used to be a T-wolves fan until they traded KG. As for Trenton Hassell, he is two years older than me. The wolves had this scrub name anthony peeler and also the fans favorite but extremely overrated Wally Szczerbiak playing SG and SF until the wolves got Hassell and Sprewell. Trenton guarded the other team's best wing player every game and he never cry about not getting enough shots or being freezeout.

I like Kirk alot to. I love pg's that make there teams better as well. I love Kidd and Rose is my new guy. Man I love that guy. I seriously want to get nba tv to watch every game he plays. That guy is gonna be a top 5 player by 2011. I probably said that already so sorry.

Liking Hassell isn't that weird. I was an Aaron Williams and Lucias Harris fan when I was watching Nets games. I actually had a Charles Smith jersey. You might not even know who that is but he was a Knick.

James Forrest was projected to get to the nba? After he didn't make it I read nobody thought he would be drafted.

What about making a list of blunders, guys you thought would be good but werent

Ed Obannon
Calbert Cheaney
James Forrest
Randolph Childress
Marcus Camby-He is good but I thought he was gonna be the best big in the league coming out
Marbury-I thought he would be a hall of famer
Donyell Marshall-Again he is decent but I thought he was gonna be a 22 points guy yearly
Felipe Lopez
Eric Barkley

My list of guys who I knew would be good is much much deeper and longer. I am a hell of a good judge of talent. These are my blunders though but in my defense there the reason I got so good at it and I was a kid for half of them.

donyell marshall, theres another guy i love. sure, he never really lived up to his draft spot, but he's been severely underrated for much of his career. guy was a great defender and was deadly from 3... and in his prime, he could board. too bad he spent much of his career playing on bad teams.

guys i was wrong about as NBA players:

starting at 1990
bo kimble - such a shame
lionel simmons - i thought he was gonna be a stud sf. complete package.
kenny anderson - i still dont understand. i guess he was just too dumb. sure, he couldnt shoot, but he was so great w/ the ball.
walt williams - i thought he was gonna be a stud tall pg or point sf. he morphed into a 3pt speccialist. what happened?
harold minor - yeah, i bought into the hype
malik sealy - i had a buddy who was a st johns fan. he had me convinced sealy was the next big thing
chris mills - didnt think he'd be a star, but thought he should have been picked a lot higher.
sharone wright - he had the body and skills.
khalid reeves - shocking, i feel in love w/ another combo guard
cliff rozier - man he has some of the nastiest post moves on the planet.
shawn respert - at least he had an excuse
bob sura - showed glimpses of his talent in the nba, just couldnt stay healthy
randolph childress - see other post
frankie king - still one of the best college players ive seen live. he was freaking sick at western carolina.
lorenzen wright - figured he'd be a rebounding machine
john wallace - classic tweener, but thought his offense would find a role
adonal foyle - at worst i figured his shot blocked would be enough to keep him on the floor for 40 mins
demarco johnson - one of many uncc players i was wrong about. i thought he had a chance to be a role player
dion glover - seemed to have all the tools, maybe came out too early.
galen young - see demarco johnson
darius miles - i bought into the hype, thought he was the next kg
courtney alexander - man he had so much offensive talent
chris porter - wtf?
rodney white - see galen young
melvin ely - he was really impressive in college. had great low post game for a kid that young.
juan dixon - i guess he did ok. i was expecting more.
stopping at 2002 - there's still time.

I like him to. He is a good player. I love that he is still playing.

You know i am just gonna do my top 5 favorites again but this time without any bias meaning if the players were not on my favorite teams. Pretend they were to start over and no team has players and they were doing a wwe type redu draft my list would probably go like this

Kobe
Rose
Gasol
Felton-I do think if I didn't watch him in college I wouldn't be a fan
Jefferson-I will always love this guy but he has disapointed me a little bit.
Jason Kidd
Dwight Howard-I know he is on my hate list to but game wise I love him
Wallace
Kirk

Sessions-He is not on my top 10 but I like him and I am drawing a total blank right now.

Players I hate don't know if I mentioned them but every single one of the Celtics.
